Description:

Round Plane Cylindrical Tablets with facet and risk, White or white with a yellowish tint of color with a characteristic smell of menthol. Grayish blotches are allowed.

  • Pharmacodynamics:

    Validol has a calming effect on the central nervous system, as well as a moderate reflex vasodilator effect, due to irritation of sensitive nerve endings. Stimulates the production and release of enkephalins, endorphins and a number of other peptides, histamine, kinin (due to irritation of the receptors of the oral mucosa), which take an active part in the regulation of vascular permeability, the formation of pain. At sublingual admission, the therapeutic effect, on average, comes in 5 minutes, while up to 70% of the drug is released within 3 minutes. Dextrose (glucose) monohydrate, entering the tissues, is phosphorylated, turning into glucose-6-phosphate, which actively participates in various metabolic processes substances in the body and in metabolic processes.

    Pharmacokinetics:With sublingual use, it is absorbed from the oral mucosa, is metabolized in the liver; is excreted in the urine in the form of glucuronides. Dextrose monohydrate is fully absorbed by the body; kidneys are not excreted (appearance in the urine is a pathological sign).
    Indications:Functional cardialgia, neuroses, "motion sickness" syndrome (nausea, vomiting in sea and air sickness).
    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, a violation of tolerance to carbohydrates. Deficiency of sucrose / isomaltose, glucose-galactose malabsorption; age to 18 years (efficacy and safety not established).

    Carefully:Diabetes.
    Pregnancy and lactation:

    During pregnancy and lactation, Validol with glucose is prescribed only if the expected therapeutic effect for the mother exceeds the possible negative effect of the drug on the fetus and the infant.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Validol with glucose is prescribed under the tongue. The tablet should be kept in the mouth under the tongue until completely dissolved. Take 1 tablet 2-3 times a day.

    If the effect is not sufficiently pronounced, or when the effect is not observed in individual patients within the next 5 minutes after taking the drug, it is necessary to contact the attending physician for the appointment of another therapy.

    Side effects:

    With prolonged admission, occasionally mild nausea, lacrimation, dizziness may occur. These phenomena usually pass by themselves.

    Overdose:

    Symptoms: headache, nausea, nervous state, decrease arterial pressure, oppression of the central nervous system.

    Treatment: withdrawal of the drug, the appointment of symptomatic therapy.

    Interaction:

    When combined with other drugs that depress the central nervous system, enhances the effect of the latter. Simultaneous use of the drug with nitrates reduces the headache that occurs when they are used.

    Special instructions:In 1 tablet contains 188 mg of dextrose monohydrate (glucose monohydrate), 544 mg of sugar (sucrose), which corresponds to 0.067 XE, which should be taken into account by a patient with diabetes mellitus.

    Packaging:
