With disturbed sleep, the dose can be increased to 30 drops.

The duration of the drug is determined individually by the doctor.

    Side effects:

Valocordin ®, as a rule, is well tolerated even with prolonged use. In some cases, during the daytime, drowsiness and light dizziness may occur.

With prolonged use of large doses, it is possible to develop chronic bromine poisoning, which manifestations include: depressive mood, apathy, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, hemorrhagic diathesis, disruption of coordination of movements.

Rarely, with increased sensitivity, skin reactions may occur.

If any side effects are observed that are not reflected in the instructions, it is necessary to inform the treating doctor about them.

    Overdose:

    Symptoms:

With mild to moderate intoxication, drowsiness, dizziness, and psychomotor disturbances are observed.

In severe cases - coma, lower blood pressure, respiratory failure, tachycardia, vascular collapse, decreased peripheral reflexes.

    Treatment:

Rinse the stomach, take Activated carbon and urgently call a doctor.

    Interaction:

At simultaneous application Valokordina® with sedatives - amplification of effect. The simultaneous use of neuroleptics and tranquillizers amplifies, and stimulants of the central nervous system - reduces the effect of each component of the drug. Alcohol enhances the effects of Valocordin® and can increase its toxicity. The presence of Valokordina® phenobarbital may induce hepatic microsomal enzymes, and this makes it undesirable simultaneous use with drugs that are metabolized in the liver, since their concentration and accordingly, the efficiency will vary as a result of rapid metabolism (indirect anticoagulants, antibiotics, sulfonamides and other)

Phenobarbital weakens the action of coumarin derivatives, glucocorticosteroids, griseofulvin, oral contraceptives.

    Special instructions:

If it is necessary to prescribe the drug during lactation, the question of stopping breastfeeding should be solved.

The preparation contains 55 volume% ethanol (the absolute ethanol content in the maximum single dose (30 drops) is 0.469 grams) and phenobarbital, so Valocordin®, even with the right application, can impair the ability of patients to react quickly in certain situations, such as when staying outdoors or when servicing machines. This is particularly pronounced when taking alcohol at the same time.

With prolonged use of the drug, the formation of drug dependence is possible; Possible the accumulation of bromine in the body and the development of poisoning them.
