D.05.A   Preparations for the treatment of psoriasis for external use

    Pharmacodynamics:

Photosensitizing agent. It sensitizes the skin to the action of light: when irradiated with UV rays, it stimulates melanocyte formation of the endogenous skin pigment of melanin. Application together with UV irradiation promotes the restoration of skin pigmentation in vitiligo.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    No data.

    Indications:

Outer 0.3% solution is applied to the lesions for 1 h before irradiation. With psoriasis, the procedures are performed 4 times a week for other diseases - 3-4 times a week. UV irradiation starts with ½ of the bio-dose, gradually increases to 5-6 biodos, which corresponds to the duration of irradiation from 1-2 to 10-15 minutes. The total amount of irradiation is 15-20.

Inside, after eating, washed down with milk, at a dose of 0.8 mg / kg (the highest single dose - 80 mg) once 2 hours before UV irradiation.

The course dose is 2-3 g (100-150 tablets) or 0.15-0.3 g (1-2 vials of 0.3% solution). Repeated courses are conducted after 1-1.5 months. Patients with limited areas of skin lesions - sometimes only externally (in combination with UV irradiation).

    Side effects:

Headache, dizziness, palpitations, cardialgia, dyspepsia, nausea, gastralgia. When an overdose of sunlight and artificial UV - acute dermatitis (skin hyperemia, swelling, blisters).

    Overdose:

    No data.

    Interaction:

No data. Used in combined with irradiation (long-wave UV rays 320-390 nm).

    Special instructions:

When skin depigmentation (leykodermii) associated with the destruction of melanocytes, inefficient.

Patients should be warned about the possibility of the development of bullous dermatitis when combined exposure lesions mercury-quartz lamp and solar radiation. The prescribed irradiation regimen should be strictly observed.

During treatment it is recommended to wear sunglasses during the day.

In the summer months in order to avoid the summed action of natural and artificial UV radiation is recommended to combine treatment with fractionated radiation sunlight.

The best effect is observed in young people, with a small prescription of the disease, in brunettes and persons prone to sunburn.

Treatment should be carried out under close medical supervision.
