    Pharmacodynamics:

    Has keratoplastic, antiseptic, antiparasitic, drying, anti-inflammatory, vasoconstrictive, anesthetic; reduces erythema, soothes itching. With infiltrative processes in the skin has a resolving effect.

    Indications:

    Psoriasis in the stationary and regressing stages, eczema (including microbial and seborrheic), neurodermatitis outside the exacerbation, pruritus, seborrhea, skin itching.

    Contraindications:

    Acute inflammation of the skin, exacerbation of chronic skin diseases, especially with pronounced exudation (acute eczema, dermatitis, exudative psoriasis), lesion of sebaceous hair follicles (folliculitis, furunculosis, acne, sycosis), kidney, liver, pancreas, myocardium.

    Pregnancy and lactation:It is not recommended for use in pregnancy, breast-feeding and women planning pregnancy.
    Dosing and Administration:

    Outwardly.

    With eczema, neurodermatitis and psoriasis, crusts or scales are removed before use with an oil compress. Berestin® is applied to the foci of skin lesions with a hard brush or hand at first for 15 minutes 1 time per day, gradually increasing the application time to 30 minutes. The preparation is removed with a cotton or gauze pad moistened with vegetable or petrolatum oil.

    With psoriasis and scrapes 15-30 minutes after application, it is recommended to take a shower with soap or shower gel, flushing the preparation with a washcloth or sponge.

    After removal from the skin Berestina® lesions are smeared with softening ointment or cream.

    The daily dose of the drug should not exceed 6-8 g.

    Duration of treatment - up to 4 weeks, breaks between courses 1-2 months.

    Side effects:

    Immediately after application of Berestin®, skin burning is sometimes observed, and at the same time the itching disappears. Burning stops after 10-15 minutes and only a few patients can persist for a longer time. In such cases, it is necessary to remove the drug from the skin after 15 minutes and do not increase the application time for subsequent application. Subjective sensations disappear after 2-3 applications.

    In some cases, irritation of the skin in the application area may occur. The appearance of it serves as a basis for temporary interruption of treatment. Irritation usually comes from the use of lotions and pastes. It is not associated with Berestin® intolerance.

    When Berestin® is applied to areas of the skin with increased hair or on the scalp, folliculitis is sometimes observed.

    The use of Berestin® on open skin areas (face, neck, hands) can trigger the occurrence of sunburn.

    Overdose:

    When applying Berestin® for a long time to large areas (more than 1/10 of the surface of the skin), there may be signs of intoxication, which include weakness, chills, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, convulsions. Urine may acquire a greenish color (olive urine, carburia), contain protein and cylinders.

    Interaction:

    Simultaneously with Berestin®, sulfanilamide preparations, phenothiazine derivatives and other agents that have the properties to increase the photosensitivity of the skin are not prescribed.

    The combination of Berestin ® with preparations containing sulfur and salicylic acid, enhance its effect.

    Special instructions:

    Before starting treatment, it is recommended to investigate the tolerability of Berestin® in a limited area of ​​the skin.

    During the treatment, it is necessary to periodically examine the urine (1-2 times per month).

    Do not use Berestin® for a long time on large areas of the skin (more than 1/10 of the surface).

    With caution use Berestin® in children and people with sensitive skin, with a tendency to folliculitis, in areas with increased hair.

    Berestin® leaves dark spots on bed and underwear, with long-term use it stains the skin in a dark color. The stains on the laundry are removed with ammonia (1 tablespoon per 10 liters of water). Dark spots on the skin disappear on their own soon after the end of treatment. Blond hair when exposed to Berestina® slightly darkens.

    Packaging:

    In bottles of dark glass for 10, 15, 20, 30, 50 and 100 g.

    Each bottle, along with instructions for medical use, is placed in a pack of cardboard.

    Storage conditions:
