    Pharmacodynamics:

    Pepsin and hydrochloric acid (formed as a result of hydrolysis of betaine hydrochloride) increase the acidity of gastric juice, have proteolytic properties, which promotes digestion in the stomach.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    There is no data on the pharmacokinetics of the drug.

    Indications:

    Hypo- and anacid gastritis, Achilles, dyspepsia.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity, hyperacidity of gastric juice (including peptic ulcer of stomach and duodenum, erosive gastroduodenitis).

    Carefully:

    Use in children with caution.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    The category of FDA recommendations is not defined. Adequate and well-controlled studies on humans and animals have not been conducted. Do not use when pregnant and breast-feeding.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Inside, during or after a meal, previously dissolved in 50-100 ml of water. Adults - 0.5 g 3-4 times a day, children - 62.5-125 mg (1/4 tablets of 0.25 mg) 3-4 times a day.

    Side effects:

    Allergic reactions, heartburn, gastralgia.

    Overdose:

    Not described.

    Treatment is symptomatic.

    Interaction:

    Betaine, alkalinizing urine, can reduce the activity of antibiotics in the urine.

    Special instructions:

    It is not represented in the US pharmacopeia.
