    Pharmacodynamics:

    Bromnaphthoquinone inhibits the synthesis of cytoplasmic proteins included in capsids, disrupts the transport of components of the viral capsid into the cell nucleus, where they are assembled. With topical use it helps to reduce signs of inflammation and redness of the conjunctiva, improves epithelialization of ulcers, contributing to the normalization of the structure of the cornea.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    When ingested well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, in the first hours after administration is detected in the blood, urine and relatively evenly distributed in the tissues of internal organs (spleen, liver, kidneys and lungs). Badly penetrates through the placental and blood-brain barrier, is excreted mainly by the kidneys and through the gastrointestinal tract.

    Indications:

    Herpetic keratitis; adenovirus infection of the eyes; viral skin diseases; herpetic stomatitis and gingivitis; herpes simplex organs; genital warts.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Category Food and Drug Administration (US Food and Drug Administration) not determined. Use with caution during pregnancy and lactation!

    Dosing and Administration:

    Viral diseases of the eyes (herpetic keratitis, adenoviral conjunctivitis and keratoconjunctivitis) - inside 0.1 g 3-4 times a day (treatment course - 15-20 days).

    Simple and herpes zoster - inside (1 hour after eating) 0.1 g 3-5 times a day. 0.5% ointment on the lesions are applied 3-4 times a day (in the genital area - 4-6 applications per day) in cycles: 3 cycles of 5 days with 1-2-day breaks or 2 cycles of 10 days with a 3- 5-day break.

    Diseases of the oral mucosa (herpetic stomatitis and gingivitis): 0.05% ointment is applied to lesions for 5-10 minutes 4-6 times a day. The course of treatment is 3-20 days (depending on the severity of the disease).

    Genital warts - 0.5% ointment applied 2 times a day for 2 weeks; warts - 0.5-1% ointment is applied 2 times a day for 2-3 weeks. Treatment with ointment should be combined with ingestion.

    Side effects:

    Allergy, headache, diarrhea when ingested; RIrritation in the place of application for local use.

    Pharmacological interaction of bromonaphthoquinone in the form of ointments for local and external use with other preparations and food products is not established.
