    R.06.A.X   Other antihistamines for systemic use

    Pharmacodynamics:It blocks histamine H1-receptors, to a lesser extent - serotonin and m-cholinergic receptors. Reduces the permeability of vessels and the severity of local exudative reactions. Prevents the development of anaphylactic shock. Oppresses the central nervous system, causes local anesthesia, reduces itching, has a weak cholinolytic effect. The antiallergic effect manifests itself within 2-3 days.
    Pharmacokinetics:Quickly absorbed, Cmax is achieved after 1.5 hours. Easily penetrates into organs and tissues, especially well supplied with blood (liver, kidneys, lungs, spleen). Penetrates through the blood-brain barrier. Quickly excreted from the body. The half-life from the plasma is 1.4-2.3 hours. After 6-7 hours, it is not found in the blood, organs and tissues or is there in trace amounts.
    Indications:Allergic diseases: pollinosis, urticaria, atopic dermatitis, neurodermatitis, angioedema, eczema; allergic reactions caused by drugs, food, cosmetics, home dust, insect bites; burn toxemia.

    Contraindications:Hypersensitivity, pregnancy, breast-feeding.
    Carefully:Do not use during work drivers of vehicles and people whose profession is associated with increased concentration of attention.
    Pregnancy and lactation:Contraindications to use during pregnancy and lactation.
    Dosing and Administration:Inside (regardless of food intake), adults 10-20 mg 2-3 times a day. Children under the age of 1 year - 5-7.5 mg, from 1 to 2 years - 5-15 mg, from 3 to 5 years - 7.5-30 mg, over 5 years - 20-40 mg per day in 2-3 reception. The course of treatment - 5-12 days, depending on the severity of allergic reactions.
    Side effects:
    From the nervous system: drowsiness, decreased concentration of attention, CNS depression.
    Other: Dryness and sensation of numbness in the oral mucosa.
    Overdose:Drowsiness, dizziness, general weakness. Treatment is symptomatic.
    Interaction:Sleeping pills, tranquilizers, neuroleptics, narcotic analgesics intensify the depressant effect.
    Special instructions:For the duration of treatment, stop breastfeeding.
