Composition:

To prepare 1000 ml of extract it is necessary:

Eleutherococcus spiny rhizomes and roots - 1000 g;

Ethyl alcohol 40% (ethanol) - a sufficient amount to obtain 1000 ml of extract

Description:

The liquid is dark brown in color, thin in a transparent layer, with a characteristic odor. During storage, precipitation may occur.

    • Pharmacodynamics:

    It has a stimulating effect on the central nervous system, increases the overall nonspecific resistance of the organism, improves appetite, improves physical and mental performance.

    Indications:Mental and physical fatigue, asthenic conditions of various etiologies, neurasthenia, arterial hypotension, recovery period after infectious diseases and postoperative period.
    Contraindications:

    Increased individual sensitivity to the drug components, arterial hypertension (high blood pressure), cardiac rhythm disturbance, myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular disease, pathology, increased excitability, epilepsy, insomnia, acute infectious diseases, chronic liver disease, pregnancy, lactation, age to 12 years.

    If you have any of these diseases, consult a doctor before taking the drug.
    Carefully:

    Alcoholism, craniocerebral injury, brain disease.

    Dosing and Administration:

    The drug is used inside before meals in the morning.

    Adults appoint 20-30 drops 2-3 times a day.

    Children over 12 years of age: in a dose at the rate of 1 drop per year of life.

    The course of treatment is 25-30 days.

    If necessary, after consultation with a doctor, repeat courses with two-week breaks (or without them).
    Side effects:

    In rare cases, allergic reactions, tachycardia, headache, insomnia, hypoglycemia are possible.

    If any of the side effects listed in the manual are aggravated, or if you notice any other side effects not listed in the instructions, tell your doctor.

    Overdose:If the recommended dose is exceeded, the side effects may be increased.
    Treatment: symptomatic.
    Interaction:

    Preparations of eleutherococcus intensify the action of stimulants and analeptics (caffeine, camphor, phenamine, etc.) are physiological antagonists of drugs that depress the central nervous system (including neuroleptics, barbiturates, tranquilizers, and anticonvulsants).

    With simultaneous use with digoxin, it is possible to increase its concentration in the blood plasma; with hypoglycemic drugs (including insulin) and anticoagulants may enhance the effect.

    Special instructions:

    The drug should not be taken in the afternoon to avoid insomnia.

    When hypoglycemia occurs, it is recommended to reduce the dose of the drug, take it after a meal or cancel the drug.

    The maximum single dose of the drug contains 0.47 g of absolute alcohol, the maximum daily dose of the drug is 1.41 grams of absolute alcohol.

    Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:

    During the period of treatment, care must be taken when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially hazardous activities requiring increased attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.
