  • Pharmacodynamics:Flit Phospho-soda is a salt laxative, the action of which is based on the increase in the osmotic processes of water retention in the lumen of the small intestine. The accumulation of fluid in the ileum leads to an increase in peristalsis and subsequent cleansing of the intestine.
    Pharmacokinetics:The drug has only local, local action, so such studies are not considered necessary. Sodium phosphate is poorly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, however, a small absorption of sodium and phosphate ions takes place and depends on the dose of the drug.

    Indications:- preparation for endoscopic or radiographic examination of the colon
    - preparation for surgical intervention on the large intestine
    Contraindications:Do not use in patients with the following diseases or suspected of them:
    - partial or complete obstruction of the intestine;
    - violation of intestinal integrity;
    - megacolon (congenital or acquired);
    - Acute inflammatory bowel diseases;
    - Heart or kidney failure.
    Do not use if there is nausea, vomiting, pain in the abdominal cavity.

    Since sodium phosphate can penetrate into breast milk, it is necessary to abandon breastfeeding immediately after taking the first dose of the drug and for the next 24 hours after taking the last dose.
    Dosing and Administration:The drug is prescribed for adults and adolescents over 15 years. Older patients use doses similar to adults.

    Side effects:The most common undesirable effects are: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, bloating and diarrhea, asthenia, weakness, headache, dizziness, allergic reactions.

    Interaction:Use with caution in patients taking calcium channel blockers, diuretics, lithium-based drugs and other drugs that can affect the level of electrolytes, since there is a possibility of developing hyperphosphataemia, hypocalcemia, hypokalemia, and dehydration in the presence of hypernatremia. acidosis.
    During the reception of Flethof-soda, the absorption of drugs in the gastrointestinal tract may be delayed or even completely stopped. The effect of regular medications (eg, oral contraceptives, antiepileptics, antidiabetic antibiotics) may be reduced or absent altogether.
    Special instructions:The drug is not used as an agent for the treatment of constipation.
    With caution, the drug should be used for elderly and debilitated patients, patients with reduced kidney function, heart disease, colostomy, as well as patients on a diet low in salt because there is a possibility of hyperphosphataemia, hypocalcemia, hypokalemia,dehydration on the background of hypernatremia, acidosis.

    Very rarely, endoscopy on the sigmoid and rectum mucosa showed single or multiple aphthus-like changes. These were either lymphoid follicles, or discrete inflammatory lesions, or epithelial changes caused by the training.     Rarely, an extension of the QT-interval on the electrocardiogram can be observed as a result of electrolyte imbalance in the type of hypocalcemia or hypokalemia.
