    Composition:

    1 suppository contains:

    active substance: miconazole nitrate - 100 mg;

    adjuvant: solid fat - 2.4 g.

    Description:

    White or almost white matte suppositories of cylindrical shape with a rounded end.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Miconazole combines an antifungal action against ordinary dermatophytes, yeasts and various other fungi with antibacterial action against certain gram-positive bacteria. Miconazole inhibits the biosynthesis of ergosterol in fungi and changes the composition of other lipid components in the membrane, which leads to necrosis of fungal cells.

    Miconazole very quickly eliminates itching, often accompanying infections caused by yeast and dermatophytes.

    Does not change the composition of the microflora and pH of the vagina.
    Pharmacokinetics:After the introduction of suppositories into the vagina, an active suspension is released. Systemic absorption after intravaginal application is limited. In 8 hours after application of the preparation, 90% of miconazole is still present in the vagina. Unaltered miconazole is not found either in plasma or in urine.
    Indications:Local treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis and secondary infections caused by gram-positive bacteria.
    Contraindications:

    Individual hypersensitivity to imidazoles or other components of the drug.

    Children under 12 years.

    Pregnancy period (I trimester).

    Carefully:FROMdiabetes mellitus, violation of microcirculation.
    Pregnancy and lactation:

    In the II and III trimester of pregnancy, the drug can be used only when, in the opinion of the doctor, the expected benefit for a woman exceeds the potential risk to the fetus.

    It is not known whether the miconazole in breast milk, nevertheless during breastfeeding the drug should be used with caution.

    Dosing and Administration:

    The drug is used vaginally. Enter deeply into the vagina for 1 suppository before bedtime for 6-7 days.

    Side effects:

    Adverse reactions occur rarely and in most cases are mild (local irritation, itching, burning sensation, especially at the beginning of treatment).

    Interaction:Simultaneous use of vaginal suppositories containing miconazole, and indirect anticoagulants of the coumarin series (eg, warfarin) can lead to an increase in the concentration of indirect anticoagulants in the blood plasma.It is necessary to observe the appearance of symptoms, such as bleeding, spontaneous bruising and control of the international normalized ratio (INR).
    Special instructions:

    If an allergic reaction occurs, treatment should be discontinued. If necessary, the drug can be removed by washing the vagina with boiled water.

    To prevent re-infection, hygiene rules should be followed. If there is an infection in the sexual partner, he should also be prescribed appropriate treatment.

    Do not use swabs while using suppositories.

    Avoid contact with latex products (contraceptive diaphragms and condoms) to avoid damage to the latex.

    Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:There are no data on the negative effect of the drug on the ability to drive vehicles and other mechanisms.

    Seven suppositories are placed in a blister of opaque polyvinyl chloride film.

    Each blister with an applicator and instruction for medical use is placed in a cardboard box.
