    Composition:

    1 capsule contains:

    Description:

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Combined drug to eliminate the symptoms of colds.

    Paracetamol has analgesic (analgesic) and antipyretic effect (influence on the center of thermoregulation in the hypothalamus).

    Ascorbic acid participates in the regulation of oxidation-reduction processes, carbohydrate metabolism, blood clotting, regeneration (restoration) of tissues, in the synthesis of steroid hormones; increases the body's resistance to infections, reduces vascular permeability, reduces the need for vitamins AT1, AT2, A, E, folic acid, pantothenic acid. It improves paracetamol tolerance and extends its action (slowing its excretion).

    Caffeine has an antispasmodic (relaxing) effect, dilates the bronchi, tones the vessels of the brain, stimulates the work of the heart, and has a general tonic effect.

    Chlorfeniramine - antihistamine preparation with anti-allergic action: reduces the discharge and stuffiness of the nose, lacrimation, sneezing.

    The combination of the components of the drug provides better tolerability of symptoms of malaise and fever in acute respiratory viral infections and other colds.

    Indications:

    Feverish syndrome with infectious and inflammatory diseases.

    Pain syndrome of moderate or mild severity (headache, migraine, toothache,neuralgia, myalgia, arthralgia, algodismenorrhea (painful irregular menstruation)).

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; gastrointestinal bleeding; portal hypertension; alcoholism; expressed hepatic and / or renal insufficiency; pregnancy (I and III trimesters), lactation period, children's age (up to 15 years); deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, zakratougolnaya glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy with the formation of residual urine, severe arrhythmias (violation of the heart rhythm), uncontrolled arterial hypertension.

    Pregnancy and lactation:Grippostad® C is contraindicated in pregnancy (in I and III trimester) and during lactation.
    Dosing and Administration:

    Inside.

    Adults and children over 15 years of age - 2 capsules per reception, with a small amount of liquid.If necessary, again should be taken in the same dose after 4-6 hours 3-4 times a day. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 12 capsules.

    Side effects:

    Sometimes allergic reactions are possible (skin rash, itching, hives, angioedema); dysfunction of the gastrointestinal tract (nausea, epigastric pain, dry mouth); difficulty urinating.

    Rarely - a violation of the blood system (anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia).

    With prolonged use in large doses (more than 12 capsules daily for more than 5 days) - hepatotoxic effect, blood system disorders (hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia, methemoglobinemia, pancytopenia); erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract; nephrotoxicity (papillary necrosis).

    Overdose:

    Symptoms (due to paracetamol): pallor of the skin, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting; hepatonecrosis (the severity of necrosis, due to intoxication, directly depends on the degree of overdose). Toxic effect in adults is possible after taking more than 10-15 g of paracetamol: increased activity of "liver" transaminases,increased prothrombin time (12-48 hours after administration); a detailed clinical picture of liver damage manifests itself after 1-6 days. Rarely, liver failure develops at a lightning speed and can be complicated by renal insufficiency (tubular necrosis).

    Treatment: introduction of donators SH-groups and precursors of glutathione-methionine synthesis 8-9 hours after an overdose and N-acetylcysteine ​​- after 12 hours The need for additional therapeutic measures (further introduction of methionine, iv administration N-acetylcysteine) is determined depending on the concentration of paracetamol in the blood, as well as on the time elapsed after its administration.

    Interaction:

    Stimulants of microsomal oxidation in the liver (phenytoin, ethanol, barbiturates, rifampicin, phenylbutazone, tricyclic antidepressants) increase the production of hydroxylated active metabolites, which makes it possible to develop severe intoxication with small overdoses.

    Ethanol promotes the development of acute pancreatitis.

    Inhibitors of microsomal oxidation (cimetidine) reduce the risk of hepatotoxic effects.

    Reduces the effectiveness of uricosuric medicines.

    Strengthens the effect of drugs that depress the central nervous system, ethanol.

    When slowing down the emptying of the stomach (propanthelin), a delayed onset of paracetamol action may occur.

    When accelerating the emptying of the stomach (metoclopramide) the drug starts to act faster. The toxicity of chloramphenicol is enhanced.

    Be careful with prolonged use of paracetamol and simultaneous therapy with oral medications that inhibit blood clotting.

    Myelotoxic drugs increase the manifestation of hematotoxicity of the drug.

    Special instructions:

    With hyperthermia (high body temperature), lasting more than 3 days, and pain syndrome for more than 5 days, a doctor's consultation is required.

    Ascorbic acid, which is part of Grippostad® C, distorts the results of laboratory tests evaluating the concentration of glucose and uric acid in the plasma.

    Do not use other medicines containing paracetamol, as well as other non-narcotic analgesics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (metamizol, acetylsalicylic acid, ibuprofen etc.), as well as barbiturates, antiepileptic medicines, rifampicin, chloramphenicol.

    Simultaneous use of other medicines should be agreed with the doctor.

    With prolonged (more than 5 days) use of the drug, control of the picture of peripheral blood and the functional state of the liver is necessary.

    Persons prone to ethanol use should consult a doctor before starting treatment with the drug, since paracetamol can have a damaging effect on the liver.
