    Composition:

    1 suppository vaginal contains:

    Active substance: econazole nitrate - 150.0 mg.

    Excipients: semisynthetic glycerides (Novata IV B, Miritol 318).

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Econazole is a synthetic derivative of imidazole. Has a local antifungal and antibacterial effect. It inhibits the biosynthesis of ergosterol, which regulates the permeability of the cell wall of microorganisms. It dissolves easily in lipids and penetrates well into tissues. Active against dermatophytes Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermophyton, yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida, mold fungi, and Malassezia furfur (Pityrosporum orbiculare), which causes multi-colored lichen and Corinebacterium minutissimum; some gram-positive bacteria (streptococci, staphylococci).

    Pharmacokinetics:

    Econazole nitrate is poorly absorbed after insertion into the vagina.

    Indications:

    Vulvaceous-vaginal mycoses.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to one of the components of the drug.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    The use of the drug during pregnancy is possible only in those cases when the potential benefit to the mother exceeds the possible risk to the fetus. If you need to use the drug during lactation, you should decide whether to stop breastfeeding.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Only for adults. The vaginal suppository is injected deep into the vagina, in the supine position, just before bedtime for 3 days.

    In case of insufficient effectiveness of a standard 3-day treatment of vaginal candidiasis it may increase to six days and conducting a repeated course of 10 days.

    Side effects:

    In the case of Iphenec, in rare cases, irritation, redness vaginal mucosa and vulva, itching and burning in these areas. If after application the drug will have side effects that are not listed in this information, then they should be reported to the doctor.

    Overdose:

    Up to now, there is no information on overdose.

    Interaction:Clinical trials and use of the drug in medical practice have not revealed incompatibility or interaction with other drugs. It is recommended to inform the doctor about simultaneous treatment with other medications.
    Special instructions:

    During menstruation the drug is administered intravaginally according to the usual scheme.

    With vulvar-vaginal mycoses, treatment and sexual partner are mandatory.

    Does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms.
