Overdose of calendula with its local application in the form of an ointment is unlikely, which is associated with low systemic absorption. The likelihood of developing an overdose increases with the accidental or deliberate use of the ointment inside. A typical clinical picture with the use of ointment does not develop inside. Perhaps the appearance of bitterness in the mouth, burning in the stomach and abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
Treatment. Gastric lavage (in case of ointment intake), administration of antacid agents, maintenance and symptomatic therapy aimed at eliminating the resulting disorders. There is no specific antidote.
