    ointment for external use

    Composition:

    For 100 g of ointment:

    Active substance:

    Tincture of calendula - 10 g;

    Excipients:

    Paraffin soft white - 54 g, emulsifier T-2 - 9 g, purified water - 27 g.

    Description:

    Ointment is light brown with a greenish tinge and characteristic odor.

    Pharmacodynamics:Has a local anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effect.
    Indications:Minor skin lesions (minor wounds, abrasions), superficial burns (including sunburn), insect bites (mosquitoes, mosquitoes, etc.).
    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, purulent wounds, long-term non-healing wounds; children under 6 years.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    The use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding is possible if the potential benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus and the baby. Consultation of the doctor is necessary.

    Dosing and Administration:Outwardly.When treating superficial burns, the ointment is applied a thin layer on the damaged skin areas, under a sterile bandage 2-3 times a day for 1-3 weeks. In the treatment of small wounds, abrasions, insect bites, the ointment is applied a thin layer on the damaged skin 2-3 times a day.
    Side effects:

    Possible allergic reactions, the emergence of dermatitis in the place of application.

    Overdose:

    Overdose of calendula with its local application in the form of an ointment is unlikely, which is associated with low systemic absorption. The likelihood of developing an overdose increases with the accidental or deliberate use of the ointment inside. A typical clinical picture with the use of ointment does not develop inside. Perhaps the appearance of bitterness in the mouth, burning in the stomach and abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.

    Treatment. Gastric lavage (in case of ointment intake), administration of antacid agents, maintenance and symptomatic therapy aimed at eliminating the resulting disorders. There is no specific antidote.

    Interaction:

    Due to low systemic absorption of calendula ointment, the risk of drug interactions is low. Dimethylsulfoxide and glycerin with simultaneous application with calendula ointment increase systemic absorption of its components and increase their depth of penetration into soft tissues in the application area.

    Special instructions:

    The use of the drug has no effect on the performance of potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.

    Do not use to persons prone to allergic reactions to calendula preparations. Calendula ointment is for external use only. Do not allow the product to enter the eyes and mucous membranes (in case of accidental ingestion, the ointment must be carefully removed and / or washed off with water).

    Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:

    Calendula ointment does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or control mechanisms and other operator activities.
