Composition:

To prepare 1000 ml of tincture, you need:

Schizandra seeds - 200 g

Ethyl alcohol 95 % (ethanol) - a sufficient amount until 1000 ml of tincture.

Description:

Transparent liquid from light yellow to yellow with a characteristic odor. During storage, the appearance of oily drops is permissible.

Pharmacodynamics:

It has a stimulating effect on the central nervous system, cardiovascular and respiratory system, raises blood pressure, mental and physical performance.

Indications:

Asthenic syndrome, fatigue, in complex therapy with weakening of sexual function on the basis of neurasthenia, mental and physical overstrain, reconvalescence after somatic and infectious diseases, vegetative-vascular dystonia in hypotonic type; to improve the working capacity of the body.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug components, arterial hypertension (high blood pressure), cardiac dysfunction, increased excitability, convulsions, sleep disorders, acute infectious diseases, pregnancy and lactation, children's age (under 12 years).

Carefully:Liver disease, alcoholism, trauma or brain disease, epilepsy.
Dosing and Administration:

Inside, for 20-30 drops, diluted in a small amount of water, 2-3 times a day for 30-40 minutes before or 4 hours after eating. The course of treatment is 30-40 days. Repeated course - on the advice of a doctor.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions, tachycardia, headache are possible. When using the drug, sleep disorders and increased blood pressure may occur.

Overdose:

So far, no cases of overdose have been identified.

Interaction:

Possible potentiation of the action of psychostimulants and analeptics (caffeine, camphor, phenamine, etc.), the drug is a physiological antagonist of drugs that depress the central nervous system (including barbiturates, tranquilizers, antiepileptic, sedatives, neuroleptics, etc.).

Special instructions:

When oily drops appear, the contents of the vial should be shaken before use.

The drug should not be used in the afternoon to avoid sleep disturbances.

The preparation contains not less than 85 % ethanol. In the maximum daily dose of the drug, the ethanol content is up to 2.78 g, in the maximum single dose of the drug - up to 0.93 g, which should be taken into account when it is necessary to manage vehicles and work with moving mechanisms.
