    Description:

    Pieces of burdock roots of various shapes passing through a sieve with apertures measuring 7mm. Color from yellowish-gray to dark brown. When examining burdock roots under a magnifying glass or stereomicroscope, formless pieces of yellowish-gray color are seen, sometimes with a partially preserved wrinkled plug of brown or dark brown, sometimes almost black. The smell is weak, peculiar. The taste of water extract is bitterish, mealy.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Burdock roots contain mucus, essential oil, fatty oil consisting of palmitic and stearic acids, as well as sitosterol and stigmasterol, inulin, tannic and bitter substances, mineral salts, vitamins and other biologically active substances.

    Has a diuretic, moderate choleretic, anti-inflammatory and wound-healing effect.

    Indications:

    Applied internally with cystitis, urethritis, gastritis, dyskinesia of the bile duct along the hypomotor type.Outer - seborrhea, acne, eczema, furunculosis.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the drug, pregnancy, lactation, children's age (up to 12 years).

    Dosing and Administration:

    About 10 g (2 tablespoons) of raw materials are placed in enameled pots, pour 200 ml (1 glass) of boiled water at room temperature, cover with a lid and heat in a boiling water bath with frequent stirring for 30 minutes, cool at room temperature for 10 minutes, filter, remaining raw materials squeeze out. The volume of the resulting broth is brought to 200 ml with boiled water. Take inside in a warm form of 100 ml (1/2 cup) 2-3 times a day for 30 minutes before meals. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks, if necessary - 4-5 weeks. Outer - in the form of irrigation, washing, wet dressings. It is recommended to stir up the broth before use.
