    Description:

    Pieces of roots of various shapes passing through a sieve with holes 7 mm in size. Color from yellowish-gray to brown. The smell is weak, peculiar. The taste of water extract is sweetish, slimy.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Burdock roots contain mucus, essential oil, fatty oil consisting of palmitic and stearic acids, as well as inulin, tannic and bitter substances, mineral salts, vitamins.

    Decoction of burdock roots has a diuretic, moderate choleretic and diaphoretic effect, improves mineral metabolism. Has a local anti-inflammatory and wound-healing effect.

    Indications:

    Used internally with cystitis, urethritis, gastritis, dyskinesia biliary tract hypomotor type, gout, arthritis (in complex therapy). Outer - seborrhea, acne, eczema, furunculosis.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the drug, pregnancy, lactation, children's age (up to 12 years).

    Dosing and Administration:

    10 g (2 tablespoons) of roots are placed in enameled dishes, poured into 200 ml (1 cup) of hot boiled water, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath with frequent stirring for 30 minutes, cooled at room temperature for 10 minutes, filtered, the remaining raw material is squeezed . The volume of the resulting broth is brought to 200 ml with boiled water. Take the inside in a warm form of 100 ml (1/2 cup) 2-3 times a day for 30 minutes before meals. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks. Outer - in the form of irrigation, washing, wet bandages. It is recommended to stir up the broth before use.
