    Composition:

    Characteristic

    Peppermint leaves contain an essential oil, which includes menthol and its esters (3-pinene, limonene, cineole, etc.); organic acids, tannins, flavonoids and other biologically active substances.

    Description:

    Pieces of leaves of various shapes, up to 10 mm and larger, with an admixture of flowers and buds. The color of the leaves is from light green to dark green. The smell is strong, fragrant. The taste of the water extract is slightly burning, cooling.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Infusion of peppermint leaves has spasmolytic, calming, choleretic, antiemetic and locally irritating effects.

    Indications:

    Symptomatic therapy: spasms of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, nausea, vomiting.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the drug, early childhood (up to 3 years).

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Perhaps, if the expected benefit for the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus and the baby. It is necessary to consult a doctor.

    Dosing and Administration:

    About 5 g (1 tablespoon) of peppermint leaves are placed in enameled pots, poured into 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cooled at room temperature for 45 minutes, filtered, left raw materials squeeze out. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

    Take 2-3 times a day, 15 minutes before meals: children from 3 to 6 years - 1 dessert spoon, children from 6 to 14 years - 1-2 tablespoons, children over 14 years and adults - 1 / 2 -1/3 cup.

    Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.
