Pharmacodynamics:Strengthening of mucociliary clearance by activation of ciliated epithelium. Reducing the viscosity of bronchial secretions by changing the pH. Has expectorant, mucolytic, antimicrobial, fungicidal, antioxidant, deodorizing effect.
Pharmacokinetics:Absorption is good. Elimination is easy.
Indications:Complex therapy of inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract (acute and chronic bronchitis, sinusitis).

Contraindications: - hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
- cholelithiasis;

Pregnancy and lactation:Due to the lack of special studies during pregnancy (II-III trimester), use with caution in the appointment of a doctor, provided that the intended benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus.
Dosing and Administration:Inside. Adults and children over 10 years: 30 minutes before meals, 300 mg 3-4 times a day - with acute inflammation, 2 times a day - with chronic. To facilitate the morning clearance sputum for chronic bronchitis is taken an additional 300 mg at bedtime.
Children younger than 10 years - 120 mg 4-5 times a day or 300 mg 2 times a day - in acute inflammation and 120 mg 3 times a day, or 300 mg once a day - with chronic inflammation.
The duration of treatment is determined by the clinical picture of the disease.
Side effects:Digestive system: pain in the stomach, abdominal pain, indigestion, increased mobility of kidney stones and gall bladder, allergic reactions.
Locally: redness and itching in the areas of application.
Overdose:PIn case of an accidental overdose, nausea, vomiting, convulsions are possible, in severe cases - coma or respiratory failure, after severe intoxication, of cardio-vascular system. Assign Vaseline oil in a dose of 3 ml / kg; gastric lavage with 5% sodium bicarbonate solution (baking soda); ventilation of the lungs with oxygen.

Special instructions:Mucolytic therapy results in a slight decrease in the frequency of exacerbations and a somewhat greater decrease in the number of days of incapacity for work in persons with chronic bronchitis and / or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. When deciding whether or not treatment with mucolytics is sufficient to justify their regular use in patients with chronic lung diseases during the period of remission, the judgment of the doctor and patient will play a decisive role. The incidence of side effects in mucolytic therapy is comparable to placebo.
