Composition:

For one tablet:

active substance: Althea medicinal herb extract (Mukaltina extract dry) with a content of polysaccharides in terms of glucose 18% - 50 mg;

Excipients: sodium bicarbonate - 87 mg, tartaric acid - 160 mg, calcium stearate - 3 mg.

Description:

Tablets of a flat cylindrical shape, with a risk and facet, from light gray to brownish-gray color, with a specific odor. Light and dark inclusions are allowed.

Pharmacodynamics:

Mukaltin is a mixture of polysaccharides from the herb althea medicinal, possesses expectorant properties. Thanks to reflex stimulation, it intensifies the activity of the ciliated epithelium and the peristalsis of respiratory bronchioles in combination with increased secretion of the bronchial glands. Sodium bicarbonate dilutes sputum and slightly increases bronchial secretion.

Indications:

Acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by the formation of difficult-to-extract sputum of increased viscosity (tracheobronchitis, obstructive bronchitis, bronchiectasis, pneumonia, etc.) - as part of complex therapy.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.

Pregnancy and lactation:

The use of the drug during pregnancy and during breastfeeding is possible on the advice of a doctor.

Dosing and Administration:

Inside 1-2 tablets 2-3 times a day before meals. The average course of treatment is 7-14 days.

Children you can dissolve the tablet in 1/3 cup of warm water.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions; rarely - dyspeptic phenomena.

Overdose:Until now, information about an overdose of the drug has not been recorded.

Interaction:

Mukaltin can be prescribed concomitantly with other drugs used in the treatment of bronchopulmonary diseases.

Mucaltin should not be used concomitantly with drugs containing codeine and other antitussive medicines, as this makes it difficult to cough up thinned phlegm.
