    Pharmacodynamics:
    Antiviral, immunomodulating, anti-inflammatory action.
    It induces the production of alpha and beta interferon, the formation of antibodies. Stabilizes biological membranes and inhibits the penetration of the virus into the cell. Antiviral activity is manifested primarily in relation to tick-borne encephalitis viruses, non-poliomyelitis enteroviruses Coxsackie and ECHO, viruses of vesicular stomatitis, influenza and parainfluenza.
    Pharmacokinetics:Quickly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, bioavailability is 80%. Up to 95% is metabolized in the liver. Urinary excretion through the kidneys by active transport to the renal tubules: 3-5% unchanged, 80-90% - inactive metabolites. Has a high affinity for tissue proteins. Binding to blood proteins is 25%. Half-life is about 6 hours.
    Indications:Tick-borne encephalitis (treatment and prevention in adults). For the complex treatment of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome.

    Contraindications:Hypersensitivity(including iodine-containing drugs), hyperthyroidism, marked violations of liver and kidney function, pregnancy and lactation period, children's age.
    Carefully:Diseases of the thyroid gland.
    Pregnancy and lactation:

    The category of recommendations is not defined. Adequate and well-controlled studies on humans and animals have not been conducted. Do not apply!

    There is no information on the penetration into breast milk. Do not apply!

    Dosing and Administration:

    Inside, after eating.

    Treatment of tick-borne encephalitis

    In the first two days, 0.3 g 3 times a day, on the third and fourth days, 0.2 g 3 times a day, for the next 5 days, 0.1 g 3 times a day.

    Prevention

    In the case of tick sucking: according to the same scheme as in the treatment.

    During stay in the endemic focus of tick-borne encephalitis - 0.2 g once a day for the entire period of stay.

    Before visiting places characterized by the possibility of sucking ticks - 0.2 g 3 times a day for two days before visiting.

    Treatment of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome

    The drug should be administered within five days from the onset of the disease.

    200 mg (2 tablets) 3 times a day for the first four days.

    For 100 mg (1 tablet) 3 times a day for the next five days.

    Side effects:Nausea, swelling, allergic reactions.
    Overdose:Not described. Treatment symptomatic.
    Interaction:

    When combined with oral hypoglycemic drugs, barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, anticoagulants of indirect action iodofenazone strengthens their action, displacing them from the connection with proteins.

    Immunoglobulin against tick-borne encephalitis is not used at the same time (iodofenazone prescribe after the completion of the course of administration of immunoglobulin).

    Special instructions:

    The original domestic remedy for the treatment and prevention of tick-borne encephalitis.

    It is not recommended simultaneous use of anti-malignant immunoglobulin. However, in focal forms of tick-borne encephalitis, it should be used (as usual) 2-3 days before iodophenazone.
