    Pharmacodynamics:

    The chemical structure and properties are similar to γ-aminobutyric acid, the main inhibitory mediator of the central nervous system. In small doses, it has a muscle relaxant and sedative effect. In large - causes sleep and anesthesia.

    Increases the body's resistance to the state of hypoxia.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    After intravenous administration within 2-3 hours up to 70% of the drug is excreted from the blood plasma.

    Penetrates through the blood-brain barrier slowly, the surgical stage of anesthesia begins 30-40 minutes after injection. The duration of anesthesia is 2-4 hours.

    Indications:

    It is used for introductory and basic anesthesia for small operations, cesarean section. Used to provide "sleep-rest" to women in labor, with open-angle glaucoma, neuroses, intoxications and traumatic injuries of the central nervous system, narcolepsy, insomnia.

    Contraindications:

    Myasthenia gravis, hypokalemia, age under 3 years, individual intolerance.

    Carefully:

    Late toxicosis of pregnancy.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Recommendations for FDA - Category B. It is used in pregnancy and lactation.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Intravenously, rectally, orally. The dose is calculated individually.

    Side effects:

    Central and peripheral nervous system: drowsiness, convulsive twitching of facial muscles and tongue, speech and motor excitement when exiting from anesthesia.

    Respiratory system: respiratory failure with rapid intravenous injection.

    Digestive system: nausea, vomiting.

    Allergic reactions.

    Overdose:

    Stop breathing.

    Treatment is symptomatic.

    Interaction:

    Strengthens the effects of funds for anesthesia and analgesics.

    Special instructions:

    When used in outpatient settings, it is not recommended for patients to drive vehicles and work with moving machinery.
