АТХ:

L.03.A.X   Other immunostimulants

Pharmacodynamics:The drug acts on the dephosphorylation of uridine monophosphate: it slows down this process, thus accelerating the formation of thymidine monophosphate, which in turn participates in the synthesis of DNA. Pentoxyl enhances the formation of leukocytes, phagocytes and macrophages, nucleic acids, antibodies (immunoglobulins). The drug has an anti-inflammatory effect, stimulates regenerative processes in the tissues, thus contributing to the rapid healing of wounds.
Pharmacokinetics:On the chemical structure pentoxyl refers to pyrimidine derivatives. Getting into the body, pentoxyl turns into dioxomethyltetrahydropyrimidine (methyluracil), while freeing formaldehyde, which has toxic properties.
Indications:
  • Diseases of the oral cavity (periodontal disease)
  • Infectious-inflammatory diseases of the respiratory system with neutropenia and oppression of phagocytosis
  • Light forms of leukopenia (including chemotherapy caused by malignant neoplasms)
  • Alimentary-toxic aleukia
  • Sluggish healing wounds, burns, bone fractures
  • Trophic ulcers
  • Stomach ulcer and duodenum ulcer
  • Chronic gastritis
  • Chronic pancreatitis
