    Pharmacodynamics:Has a paralyzing effect on nematodes (ascarids, pinworms), disrupting the function of their neuromuscular system, causing paralysis of the musculature. The severity of de-worming by the drug is at the level of 90-95%, and with repeated application it can be about 100%. In view of the fact that piperazine does not destroy ascaris, there is no danger of absorption of biological toxic products of their disintegration. The drug is low toxicity.
    Pharmacokinetics:The drug is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. It is excreted from the body mainly by the kidneys.

    Indications:Ascaridosis and enterobiosis.

    Contraindications:

    Organic diseases of the central nervous system. Hypersensitivity. Chronic kidney failure, pregnancy and lactation.Children under 3 years (for this dosage).

    Pregnancy and lactation:The safety of the drug during pregnancy and lactation is not established.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Inside. When treating ascariasis, the drug is prescribed for two consecutive days 2 times a day for 1 hour before or 0.5-1 hour after meals in the following doses: adults and children from 15 years old - 1.5 grams - 2.0 g; children aged 3 to 5 years - 0.5 g (daily dose 1.0 g), from 5 to 8 years - 0.75 g (daily dose 1.5 g), from 8 to 12 years - 1.0 g (daily dose 2.0 g), from 13 to 15 years - 1.5 g (daily dose 3.0 g). It is possible to use the drug for one day only at a dose of 0.5 g to 4.0 g, depending on the age.

    The maximum daily intake in adults is 4.0 g.

    With enterobiosis in the same doses, the drug is prescribed for 5 consecutive days (1-3 courses of therapy with a 7-day break between courses) or for one day at a dose of 0.5 g to 4.0 g, depending on the age . In between cycles, a night enema is prescribed for mechanical washing of pinworms (4-5 glasses of water for adults, 1-2 glasses for children, with 1/2 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate added to a glass of water).

    Side effects:

    Rarely there is nausea, abdominal pain, headache, which quickly disappear.In patients with renal insufficiency, neurotoxic complications can be observed (muscle weakness, tremor, euphoria, hallucinations, visual impairment, coordination of movement disorders).

    Overdose:

    In case of overdose, undefined muscle weakness, tremor, and neurotoxic effects are observed, especially in patients with impaired renal excretory function. Measures to help with overdose: removing the drug from the stomach and intestines (gastric lavage, artificial vomiting, the use of salt laxatives, enema, the use of intestinal adsorbents - activated charcoal), symptomatic treatment. If necessary, oxygen and transfusion therapy is performed. When neurologic symptoms are introduced thiamine.

    Interaction:

    Increases the severity of extrapyramidal disorders caused by chlorpromazine.

    Special instructions:

    Preliminary training of patients is not required. When carrying out the treatment, strict adherence to the hygienic regime is necessary. Laxatives are prescribed only to patients with a tendency to constipation in the evening (on days when piperazine is taken).

    Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:

    The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and various mechanisms, as well as to engage in other potentially dangerous activities that require increased attention and speed of mental and motor reactions.

    Form release / dosage:

    Tablets 0.5 g.

    Packaging:

    For 10 or 20 tablets in a contour mesh package. For 10 tablets in a contour non-jawed package.

    For 30, 50 or 100 tablets in a polymer can.

    1, 2, 3 or 5 contour packs, or a plastic can with the instruction for use is placed in a bundle.

    It is allowed to design contiguous cell or non-cellular packages with an equal number of instructions for use in group packaging.

    Storage conditions:

    Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C. Keep out of the reach of children.

    Shelf life:5 years. After the expiration date, the drug should not be used.
