    Pharmacodynamics:

    Coenzyme of enzymes that regulate protein and carbohydrate metabolism. Has a moderate ganglion-blocking effect, promotes the conduction of nerve impulses in synapses. It has an antioxidant effect, protects the cell membranes from the toxic effect of peroxidation products.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    After oral administration, the fasting is almost completely absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. It is distributed in all tissues: more than half of the total amount of the drug is contained in the striated muscle, about 40% - in the internal organs.

    Metabolism in the liver by phosphorylation with the formation of thiamin diphosphate (cocarboxylase), which has a pharmacological effect.

    Elimination by the kidneys and with feces.

    Indications:

    It is used for vitamin B deficiency1, is used in the complex therapy of dystrophic myocardial lesions, polyneuritis, Wernicke's encephalopathy, opioid and alcohol dependence.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Recommendations for FDA - Category B. It is used in pregnancy and lactation.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Inside for 100 mg 1 time / day. For treatment of opioid and alcohol dependence, 100 mg 2-3 times / day are prescribed.

    The highest daily dose: 300 mg.

    The highest single dose: 100 mg.

    Side effects:

    Possible irritation of the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract, manifested dyspeptic disorders.

    Allergic reactions.

    Overdose:

    Cases of overdose are not described.

    Treatment is symptomatic.

    Interaction:

    Enhances the effect of anticoagulants.

    Impaired absorption of thiamine while using with bleomycin, vinblastine, fluorouracil, cisplastin.

    The excretion of thiamine with simultaneous use with isoniazid and penicillamine is increased.

    Sulfite-containing infusion solutions reduce the effects of thiamine.

    Special instructions:

    Weaken the effect of depolarizing muscle relaxants. Before an operative intervention it is necessary to inform the anesthesiologist about taking the drug by the patient.
