Composition:

Active substance:

benzocaine 206 mg

Excipients:

shark liver oil - 60.0 mg,

cocoa beans oil - 1388.0 mg,

corn starch - 340.0 mg,

methylparahydroxybenzoate 2.0 mg,

propyl parahydroxybenzoate 4.0 mg.

Description:

Opaque suppositories, from white to light yellow in the form of a torpedo.

Pharmacotherapeutic group:Local anesthetic.

C.05.A.D.03 Benzocaine

Pharmacodynamics:

Benzocaine - a local anesthetic, does not have a resorptive effect.

Cocoa butter has a softening effect.

Indications:

Local anesthetic for hemorrhoids, fissures of the anus, after proctologic operations, during diagnostic manipulations.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug components, thromboembolic disease, granulocytopenia.

Pregnancy and lactation:During pregnancy and lactation, use the drug after consulting a doctor.

Dosing and Administration:

The drug should be used after hygienic procedures.

Adults and children over 12 years of age: enter into the rectum to 1 suppository up to 4 times a day(in the morning, at night and after each emptying of the intestine).

Children under 12 years: apply as directed by a doctor.

Side effects:Local reactions (hyperemia), allergic reactions are possible.

Overdose:

Symptoms of overdose may be related to the pharmacological effects of benzocaine. Its systemic absorption in case of an overdose can be manifested by drowsiness, anxiety, excitation, in severe cases - seizures. Very rarely large doses of benzocaine can cause methaemoglobinemia, which is manifested by respiratory disorders and cyanosis. Intravenous administration of methylene blue is a specific tool in the treatment of this condition.

In the case of a significant excess of the recommended single and daily doses of shark liver oil, there may be a tendency to accelerate blood clotting.

Special instructions:

It is not recommended to use the drug for children under 12 without consulting with a doctor. In case of accidental ingestion, immediately seek qualified help.

With abundant spotting from the anus or with painful symptoms for more than 7 days, consult a doctor.

Suppositories rectal 203 mg.

Packaging:

Six suppositories are placed in a blister of opaque PVC film. 2 blisters together with instructions for medical use of the drug are placed in a cardboard box.

Storage conditions:

At a temperature of no higher than 25 ° C.

Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life:

2 years. Do not use after expiry date.
