    Characteristic.
    Sage leaves contain essential oil, tannins, flavonoids and other biologically active substances.
    Description:

    Pieces of leaves, petioles, stems, flowers. The color is green, grayish-green, greenish-gray or silver-white with greenish-brown, light brown, yellowish white, white, reddish-violet and rare brown patches. The scent is fragrant. The taste of the water extract is bitterish-spicy, slightly astringent.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Infusion of sage leaves has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and astringent effect.

    Indications:

    In the complex therapy of inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity (stomatitis, gingivitis) and pharynx (sore throat, pharyngitis).

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the drug, children under 12 years.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    The application is possible if the expected benefit for the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus and the baby. It is necessary to consult a doctor.

    Dosing and Administration:

    3 filter packets (4.5 g) are placed in a glass or enamel ware, pour 100 ml (1/2 cup) of boiling water, cover and insist 15 minutes, periodically pressing on the bags with a spoon, then squeeze them. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 100 ml with boiled water.

    Apply topically to rinses in adults and children over 12 years of 1/2 cup infusion 3-5 times a day in a warm form. The course of treatment is 1 week.

    Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.

    Side effects:

    Allergic reactions are possible.

    Overdose:

    If used correctly (topically), an overdose is unlikely. Accidental ingestion of high doses (over 15 g of dried leaves) - tachycardia, tinnitus, vomiting, cramps. Treatment: symptomatic.
