    Pharmacodynamics:

    Azelaic acid normalizes the disturbed processes of keratinization in the follicles of the sebaceous glands, reduces the content of free fatty acids in the lipids of the skin and reduces its fat content. Has antimicrobial activity against Propionibacterium acnes and Staphyloccocus epidermidis. Anti-inflammatory effect is also caused by a decrease in neutrophil metabolism and a decrease in the production of free-radical forms of oxygen by them. Azelaic the acid has a dose-dependent and time-dependent inhibitory effect on the growth and viability of abnormal melanocytes.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    The drug is almost not absorbed into the systemic bloodstream (no more than 3.6% of the active substance with a single application of 5 g of gel). Part of the absorbed acid is excreted by the kidneys unchanged, part - in the form of dicarboxylic acids (C7, C5), formed as a result of beta-oxidation.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    The use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation is possible after consultation with the doctor, however, it is necessary to avoid applying it to the area of ​​the mammary glands before feeding.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Outwardly. Adults and children from 12 years. Before applying the gel, you should thoroughly wash your skin with water or a mild cleansing cosmetic, then dry it. The gel is applied a thin layer on the affected skin areas twice a day (morning and evening) and lightly rubbed. Approximately 2.5 cm of gel is sufficient for the entire surface of the face. It is important that Skinoren is used regularly throughout the treatment period.The duration of application Skinorena is individual and depends on the severity of the disease. Improvement occurs, as a rule, after 4 weeks of treatment. However, for best results, use Skinorene gel for several months.

    Side effects:

    At the beginning of the treatment, a small number of patients may experience local irritation, manifested as flushing and flaking of the skin, burning or itching.
