Description:

    • Pharmacodynamics:

    The herb of thermopsis has an expectorant effect, having a moderate irritant effect on the receptors of the gastric mucosa, reflexively increases the secretion of the bronchial glands.

    The thermocapsa alkaloids contained in the grasscytisine, methylcytisine, pachycarpine, anagyrin, thermopsin, thermopsidin) exert a stimulating effect on the respiratory and, in high doses, on the vomiting centers.

    Sodium bicarbonate stimulates the secretion of bronchial glands, helps reduce the viscosity of phlegm.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    The components of the drug are well absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. The maximum of action occurs 30-60 minutes after ingestion and lasts for 2-6 hours. They are excreted from the body by the kidneys, mucous membrane of the respiratory tract and bronchial glands.

    Indications:

    Diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by a cough with hard-to-recover sputum (tracheitis, bronchitis) - as part of complex therapy.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the phase of exacerbation, children's age (up to 12 years).

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Application during pregnancy and during breastfeeding is contraindicated.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Inside, adults are prescribed 1 tablet 3 times a day. The course of treatment for 3-5 days. The highest single dose in terms of thermopsis is 0.1 g (14 tablets). The highest daily dose, in terms of thermopsis - 0.3 g (42 tablets).

    Children over 12 years - 1 tablet 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 3-5 days. The need to prescribe a second course is determined by the doctor.

    Side effects:

    Allergic reactions are possible; nausea.

    Overdose:

    Symptoms: nausea, vomiting. Treatment: gastric lavage, symptomatic.

    Interaction:

    Adsorbents, astringents and enveloping agents can reduce the absorption of alkaloids that make up the herb of thermopsis in the gastrointestinal tract.Cough tablets should not be used concomitantly with drugs containing codeine and other antitussive medicines, as this makes it difficult to cough up phlegm.

    Special instructions:

    To improve liquefaction and separation of sputum, it is recommended to administer a generous warm drink. Tablets from coughing do not affect the driving of vehicles and management mechanisms.
