    Composition:

    Active substance: Zinc sulfate heptahydrate (in terms of zinc sulfate monohydrate) - 124 mg *

    Excipients: potato starch, povidone, talcum, magnesium stearate, lactose monohydrate.

    Sheath:

    hypromellose (hydroxypropylmethylcellulose), macrogol (polyoxyethylene glycol), titanium dioxide, azorubin E122 varnish.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Zinc is one of the most important trace elements. It is part of almost 200 enzymes that determine the course of various metabolic processes, including protein synthesis and carbohydrate metabolism.

    Zinc stimulates the synthesis of collagen and protein in the regenerating tissue, has a drying and astringent effect; stimulates the synthesis of insulin.

    Activates carboangritases and superoxide dismutases of erythrocytes, superoxide dismutase of cytosol, glutamate dehydrogenase, alkaline phosphatase hydrolase, aminopeptidase, neutral proteases.

    Indications:

    Prevention and treatment of zinc deficiency caused by inadequate and unbalanced nutrition, impaired absorption and other conditions that disrupt the absorption of zinc and increase its loss by the body. Acrodermatitis enteropathica (enteropathic acrodermatitis), acne pustulosa and acne phlegmonosa (purulent and phlegmonous acne). With prolonged treatment with corticosteroids, especially at the time of withdrawal of drugs.

    As an auxiliary treatment for hard-healing wounds.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, children up to 4 years.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Inside. Tablets can not be divided or chewed.

    Zinctal®-Teva should be taken as directed by a physician.

    Enteropathic acrodermatitis

    Adults: 1 tablet 3 times a day for 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal.

    Children older than 4 years: 1 tablet per day.

    When the clinical improvement is achieved, the dose is reduced to 1 tablet 2 times a day, and then 1 tablet a day until the symptoms disappear completely.

    Purulent and phlegmonous acne

    Adults: 1-2 tablets per day;

    Children over 4 years: 1 tablet per day.

    With zinc deficiency:

    Adults: 1-2 tablets per day.

    Children over 4 years: 1 tablet per day.

    The drug is used 1 hour before or 2 hours after eating, since many foods can disrupt zinc absorption. If symptoms of irritation of the gastrointestinal tract occur, the drug can be used immediately before meals or during meals, which in turn can reduce absorption and weaken the effect of the drug.

    Side effects:

    Allergic reactions. Deficiency of copper. Gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, diarrhea, heartburn), hematological disorders due to zinc-induced copper deficiency, including leukopenia, accompanied by fever, chills, sore throat, neutropenia accompanied by ulceration may occur (especially when taking large doses) in the oral cavity and pharynx, sideroblastic anemia, accompanied by a feeling of fatigue, weakness.

    There may be a headache and a metallic taste in your mouth.

    In case of occurrence of the above-stated signs it is necessary to stop application of a preparation and immediately to address to the doctor.

    Overdose:

    Overdose Symptoms: burning pain in the oral cavity and pharynx, watery or bloody diarrhea, belching, vomiting, lowering of blood pressure, pulmonary edema, jaundice.

    Can also be observed: hematuria, anuria, collapse, convulsions, hemolysis.

    Treatment: take a large amount of milk or water, if necessary, contact a doctor or seek medical help. It may require application intramuscularly or intravenously calcium-disodium ethylenediaminetetra-acetic acid (edetic acid) at a dose of 50-75 mg / kg body weight per day in 3-6 divided doses for up to 5 days.

    Interaction:

    Zinc salts reduce the absorption of tetracyclines, copper (the drug should be used no earlier than 2 hours after taking these drugs).

    Thiazide diuretics increase the excretion of zinc in the urine.

    Folic acid may impair the absorption of zinc to a small extent.

    High doses of iron, penicillamine and other complexing agents significantly reduce zinc absorption (should not be used until 2 hours after taking these drugs).

    Complex preparations (for example, multivitamin preparations with minerals containing zinc) - the simultaneous use of several preparations containing zinc can lead to a high concentration of zinc in the plasma.

    A diet rich in phosphates (for example, dairy products), cereal bakery products or vegetables restrict zinc absorption by binding to non-absorbable complexes; This type of food can be taken no less than 2 hours after the application of zinc salts.

    Special instructions:

    If a dose of Zinctal-Teva is missed, the next dose should be taken at the usual time. You can not take a double dose to make up for a missed appointment.

    With prolonged use of zinc preparations, the risk of copper deficiency should be considered.

    During treatment, avoid drinking alcohol.

    Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:

    The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles.
