    C.05.C.X   Other drugs that reduce the permeability of capillaries

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Eszin is contained in the seeds of horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum L., semen). It is a mixture of triterpene saponins. Eszin has an anti-inflammatory effect mainly in the initial phase of the inflammatory reaction, "sealing" the walls of the capillaries and thus reducing their permeability, increased with inflammation. Eszin also has a positive effect on the fragility of the walls of the capillaries and increases the tone of the venous walls when it is weakened. All this leads to a reduction in stagnation in the venous bed and accumulation of fluid in the tissues, preventing the appearance of edema.

    Indications:

    - Venous insufficiency (pain and heaviness in the legs, night cramps in the calf muscles, skin itching, swelling of the legs), a feeling of heaviness in the legs during pregnancy or prolonged standing;

    - phlebeurysm;

    - trauma (bruises, swelling of soft tissues, posttraumatic hematomas, sprain), infiltrates after injections.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug.

    Carefully:

    Propensity to thrombosis.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    There are no restrictions of use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Due to the limited degree of absorption of the medicinal substances that make up the gel, they do not have a systemic effect. However, before using the drug, you should consult a doctor.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Outwardly.

    A thin layer of Venitan® gel should be applied to and around the skin of the painful areas and gently rubbed. The gel should be applied 2-3 times a day.

    With varicose veins of the lower extremities, it is also recommended to use an elastic bandage or wear special tightening tights.

    Side effects:

    In very rare cases, the development of reactions of hypersensitivity (urticaria, skin rash, skin itching) is possible. In these cases, stop treatment immediately and consult a doctor.

    Overdose:

    There is no evidence of an overdose of Venitan®.

    Interaction:

    Not noted.

    Special instructions:

    Do not apply the gel to the damaged skin, mucous membranes, as well as in the presence of purulent processes.

    Do not massage when applied.

    If there is a sudden appearance of severe symptoms of venous insufficiency (swelling, skin discoloration, a feeling of tension and pain), especially on one leg, thrombosis of the veins of the lower extremities should be ruled out. If these symptoms appear, consult a doctor immediately.
