    Composition:

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Iodine in the form of a complex of polyvinylpyrrolidone iodine. The concentration of active iodine is not less than 1%. Antiseptic, with external application has bactericidal (against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, including antibiotic-resistant strains Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Proteus), antifungal action.

    Indications:Disinfection of the hands of the surgeon, surgical field, surgical gloves and ulnar folds of donors, burns, purulent and infected wounds, osteomyelitis.
    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the drug components, hyperthyroidism, herpetiform dermatitis Duhringa, adenoma of the thyroid gland, renal failure,before therapy with radioactive iodine; the period of newborns (especially in premature infants).

    0.1-0.5% aqueous solutions are prepared from 1% solution immediately before use.

    Side effects:

    Dry skin, allergic reactions (pruritus, hyperemia on the site of application, urticaria). When applied to a wide wound surface, a rapid burning sensation is possible.

    Overdose:

    Symptoms of overdose: irritation in the application site.

    Treatment: symptomatic.

    Prolonged use (more than 7-10 days) can cause a phenomenon of iodine ("metallic" taste in the mouth, excessive salivation, swelling of the eyes or larynx, etc.), when it appears, stop using the drug and refer to the doctor.
