    D.08.A.D   Preparations of boric acid

    Pharmacodynamics:Antiseptic.
    Indications:

    Boron acid solution is used in otolaryngology with external acute and chronic otitis without damaging the tympanic membrane.

    Contraindications:

    Violation of kidney function, child age, pregnancy, individual intolerance, violation of the integrity of the tympanic membrane, lactation period.

    Dosing and Administration:

    The solution is instilled in the ear 3-5 drops 2-3 times a day or tyurundum, moistened with a solution, is injected into the auditory canal. The course of treatment - no more than 1 week.

    Side effects:

    When boric acid is used, especially if overdose and long-term use and in violation of kidney function, there may be acute and chronic toxic reactions: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash.

    Overdose:

    Symptoms of acute poisoning: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, impairment blood circulation and depression of the central nervous system, lowering of body temperature, coma.

    Symptoms of chronic intoxication (possible with prolonged use): exhaustion, stomatitis, eczema, local edema of tissues, alopecia, anemia.

    Treatment: symptomatic, there is no specific antidote.
