    Composition:

    Rhizomes and roots of elecampane contain essential oil (including sesquiterpene lactones), inulin, mucus and other biologically active substances.

    Description:

    Pieces of roots and rhizomes of various shapes passing through a sieve with apertures measuring 7 mm. Color grayish-brown, yellowish-white, yellowish-gray. The scent is fragrant. The taste of the water extract is spicy, bitter.

    R.05   Drugs used for cough and colds

    Pharmacodynamics:Decoction of rhizomes and roots of elecampane exerts an expectorant effect.
    Indications:

    Applied in adults and children over 12 years as an expectorant for diseases of the upper respiratory tract.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the drug, kidney disease, pregnancy, lactation period, children's age (up to 12 years).

    Dosing and Administration:

    About 16 g (2 tablespoons) of raw materials are placed in enamel ware, poured 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 30 minutes, cooled at room temperature for 10 minutes, filtered, the remaining raw material squeezed. The volume of the resulting broth is brought to 200 ml with boiled water.

    Is taken orally in a warm 1/2 glass 2-3 times a day. A course of treatment 2 of the week.

    It is recommended to stir up the broth before use.

    Side effects:Possible allergic reactions, heartburn, increased pain in the abdomen.
    Form release / dosage:Rhizomes and roots are crushed.
    Packaging:

    50 g, 60 g, 70 g, 100 g and 150 g in cardboard packs with an inner paper bag.

    Storage conditions:

    Store in a dry place protected from light.

    Keep out of the reach of children.

    Broth - in a cool place no more than 2 days.
