Composition:

The preparation is a microbial mass of living antagonistically active Escherichia coli strains (E.coli M-17) lyophilized in a culture medium with the addition of one of the drying protective media: sucrose-gelatinous, sucrose.

A single dose contains at least 10x109 living intestinal rods.

Description:

Crystalline or porous mass of yellowish, or beige, or whitish-gray color of varying intensity, with a specific odor.

A.07.F.A   Antidiarrhoeal preparations of biological origin regulating the balance of intestinal microflora

Pharmacodynamics:Biological properties. The therapeutic effect is due to the antagonistic activity of E. coli in the ratio of pathogenic and opportunistic microorganisms, especially against shigella, salmonella, and proteus.
Appointment. Treatment of chronic and chronic dysentery, chronic colitis and enterocolitis of various etiologies, dysbacteriosis of various etiologies, healing of reconvalescents after acute intestinal infections in children from 6 months and adults.

Indications:

Colibacterin is used in complex treatment:

- prolonged and chronic dysentery;

- chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (nonspecific and specific chronic colitis and enterocolitis with severe dyspeptic disorders);

- with dysbacteriosis of different etiology;

- after the treatment of convalescent infections after acute intestinal infections.

Contraindications:

Specific and nonspecific ulcerative colitis.

Dosing and Administration:

Before taking the bottle, remove the metal cap and rubber plug.

The contents of the bottle are diluted with cold boiled water at a rate of 5 ml (one teaspoon) per dose of the drug. When the preparation is dissolved with water for 5 minutes, a turbid suspension with a specific odor is formed.

The diluted drug is not subject to storage.

The drug is administered orally 30-40 minutes before meals in the following daily doses:

- children from 6 months to 1 g: 2 to 4 doses;

- from 1 g to 3 years: 4-8 doses;

- older than 3 years and adults: 6-12 doses.

Daily doses can be divided into 2-3 doses.

The number of doses and duration of treatment is determined by the doctor depending on the severity, duration of the disease and the severity of dysbiosis.

If necessary, treatment courses can be repeated, but not earlier than 3-6 months with a preliminary study of the microflora of the gastrointestinal tract.

In between the appointments of colibacterin, patients are shown bifido- or lactose-containing drugs.

Side effects:The use of colibacterin usually does not cause adverse reactions. In rare cases, the process of treatment may cause mild dyspeptic disorders, which usually pass on their own and do not require withdrawal of the drug or treatment. In the case of a more pronounced reaction, it is advisable to temporarily stop the drug or stop treatment with colibacterin.
Interaction:

It is not recommended simultaneous chemo-and antibiotic therapy.

Storage conditions:

3. A drug with altered physical properties and the presence of foreign impurities.

4. With expired shelf life.
