A.06.A.D   Laxative preparations with osmotic properties

A.06.A.D.61   Lactulose in combination with other drugs

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Lactulose

Stimulates peristalsis of the large intestine and reproduction of lactic acid bacteria. Under the influence of the microflora of the large intestine lactulose hydrolyzed to lactic and partially to acetic and formic acids. In the intestine, the pH changes to the acidic side, the osmotic pressure rises, which results in the retention of ammonium ions, the migration of ammonia into the large intestine, followed by ionization. The concentration of ammonium ions in plasma is reduced by 25-50%, which normalizes the parameters of the electroencephalogram and improves the mental state.

Hypoammonemic effect is observed after the development of laxative action of the drug - in 24-48 hours after administration.

    Lignin

Lignin consists of products of hydrolysis of wood components, has a nonspecific detoxification effect and high absorbent activity. In the intestine binds pathogenic bacteria, toxins, heavy metal salts, allergens, alcohol, as well as excess bilirubin, cholesterol, histamine, urea and metabolites that cause endogenous toxicosis.

    Pharmacokinetics:

Absorption of the components of lactulose is weak - up to 3%.

Lignin is not absorbed and removed from the intestine within 24 hours.

    Indications:

It is used for acute and chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, dyspeptic disorders, diarrhea, dysbiosis.

It is used to treat acute diseases accompanied by intoxication syndrome, with toxicosis of pregnant women, liver failure with encephalopathy.

Used to adjust the stool with constipation, as well as to prepare for operations on the rectum.
