    Characteristic

    Contains tannic substances, saponins, resinous substances, flavonoids, phenolcarbonic acids, starch, etc.

    Description:

    Pieces of rhizomes of an indeterminate form of yellow, pinkish, yellowish or dark brown color, passing through a sieve with apertures measuring 7 mm.

    The smell is weak, fragrant. The taste of water extract is astringent.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Decoction from the rhizomes of cinquefoil has astringent and anti-inflammatory effect.

    Indications:

    Applied internally with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (diarrhea, enteritis, colitis); externally - in the form of rinses during inflammatory processes of the oral cavity (stomatitis, gingivitis, sore throats).

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the drug, pregnancy, lactation, children under 12 years.

    Dosing and Administration:

    15 g (1 tablespoon) of raw materials are placed in enameled dishes, poured 200 ml of boiled water, covered with a lid, heated in a boiling water bath for 30 minutes, filtered, squeezed. The volume of the resulting broth is brought to 200 ml with boiled water.

    Take 15 ml (1 tablespoon) 3 times a day.

    Externally, rinses are used 1/2-l a glass of broth in a warm form.

    It is recommended to stir up the broth before use.

    Side effects:

    Allergic reactions are possible. Long-term use of large doses can cause loss of appetite, constipation.
