  • АТХ:

    R.06.A.E.   Piperazine derivatives

    E.06.A.E.09   Levocetirizine

    Pharmacodynamics:

A competitive histamine antagonist with high selectivity to H1 - histamine receptors. Inhibiting eotaxins, levocetirizine blocks the expression of the vascular molecule of cell adhesion 1 in the histamine-dependent stage of the allergic reaction. As a result, the migration of eosinophils decreases, the vascular permeability decreases, and the release of inflammatory mediators is limited.

Levocetirizine prevents and slows the course of the allergic reaction, has antiexudative and antipruritic effect. Does not have antiserotonin and anticholinesterase, as well as sedation. Does not affect the parameters of the electrocardiogram (QT-interval).
    Pharmacokinetics:

Bioavailability is 100%. It binds to plasma proteins by 90%. Undergoes biotransformation in the liver - a dealkylation reaction takes place with the formation of an inactive metabolite.

    The half-life is 7-10 hours.

Elimination by the kidneys - 85,4%. Removed during hemodialysis.
    Indications:
