    Pharmacodynamics:

    Pineal gland hormone (epiphysis), a metabolite of serotonin; binding to melatonin 1A-receptors: inhibition of adenylate cyclase and activation of phospholipase C, leading to an increase in the concentration γ-aminobutyric acid and serotonin in the middle brain and hypothalamus, an increase in the activity of pyridoxal kinase, an enzyme involved in the synthesis γ-aminobutyric acid, serotonin and dopamine. It is secreted by the body at night, affecting sleep.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    Absorption is variable. Biotransformation in the liver, half-life is 35-50 minutes.

    Indications:

    Sleep disorders, fatigue, dEpressive syndrome, desynchronosis.

    Contraindications:

    Chronic renal failure, aallergic diseases, aimmune disorders, limphogranulomatosis, leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, epilepsy, fromdiabetes mellitus, bPregnancy and breastfeeding.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    The category of FDA recommendations is not defined. The drug has a weak contraceptive effect, which should be informed by patients who want to become pregnant. Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Assign inside by 1-5 mg once a day for 30-40 minutes before bedtime.

    Nervous system: headache.

    Digestive system: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.

    Overdose:

    In case of an overdose, there is an increase in side effects, gastric lavage, symptomatic therapy.

    Interaction:

    With simultaneous use, it enhances the effects of drugs that depress CNS and beta-blockers.Incompatible with inhibitors MAO, glucocorticoids, cyclosporin.

    Special instructions:

    It is not recommended to combine non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents, drugs depressing CNS and beta-blockers. Do not use during work drivers of vehicles and people whose profession is associated with increased concentration of attention.

    The drug has a weak contraceptive effect.
