Pharmacodynamics:

Has moderate lipid-lowering effect, lowers cholesterol, β-lipoproteins, increases the content of high-density lipoproteins.

Indications:

As part of the complex therapy of atherosclerosis.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, acute diseases of the gastrointestinal tract,reduced blood clotting, the period of pregnancy and breastfeeding, age to 18 years (efficacy and safety of use not established).

Carefully:

Carefully should take the drug simultaneously with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (ibuprofen, indomethacin, acetylsalicylic acid and others), vasodilators (dipyridamole, pentoxifylline), anticoagulants (heparin, warfarin and others) and other means that reduce blood coagulability, in connection with the increased risk of bleeding.

Dosing and Administration:

Inside. Adults appoint 1-2 capsules 3 times a day during meals. Capsules are not chewed, washed down with a small amount of water. The course of treatment is up to 6 weeks. Conducting repeated courses of treatment is possible by appointment of a doctor.

Side effects:

During the period of application of the preparation, changes in the smell of the skin and exhaled air are possible, in the first days of taking the drug, a slight eructation of air with the smell of garlic, which disappears with its subsequent application; allergic reactions (reddening of the skin, skin rash, itching, swelling of the face, limbs, bronchospasm), headache, dizziness,lowering blood pressure, rarely - dyspeptic phenomena (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), a decrease in blood clotting.

Interaction:

With the simultaneous administration of the drug with antihypertensive drugs, the effect of the latter can be strengthened.

Special instructions:

If it is necessary to perform a surgical operation, the patient should inform the attending physician, surgeon, anesthesiologist about taking the drug. It is advisable to stop taking the drug 2-3 weeks before the operation.
