Birch buds - instructions for use, doses, side effects, contraindications

Birch buds contain essential oil (3-8%), which includes sesquiterpene alcohol betulol (41-47%) and betulol ester with acetic acid (30-45%); flavones, tannins, resin.

Description:

The kidneys are elongate-conical, pointed or blunted, often sticky. The scales are arranged tile, tightly pressed around the edges, slightly ciliate (the lower ones are shorter than the upper ones and sometimes with slightly trailing tips); the length of the kidney is 3-7 mm, 1.5-3 mm across. The color of the kidneys is brown, sometimes greenish at the base. The smell is balsamic, pleasant. The taste of water extract is slightly astringent, resinous.

Pharmacodynamics:Infusion of birch buds has a diuretic and anti-inflammatory effect.

Indications:Swelling of the heart or kidney origin of mild to moderate severity.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug. Chronic kidney failure, acute glomerulonephritis, pregnancy, lactation, children under 12 years.

Dosing and Administration:

About 10 grams (1 tablespoon) of birch buds are placed in enameled pots, pour 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and insist on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, then cool 45 minutes at room temperature, filter, left raw materials squeeze out. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

Take inside 1-2 tablespoons 3 times a day for 30 minutes before eating. Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions are possible. With prolonged use of the drug, there may be an exacerbation of inflammatory diseases of the kidneys as a result of irritation of the renal parenchyma.

Overdose:

When using the drug in doses exceeding the recommended, it is possible to increase the side effects.
