Birch buds - instructions for use, doses, side effects, contraindications

Birch buds contain an essential oil, the main components of which are sesquiterpene compounds (betulin, betulenol, betulenic acid, caryophyllene); resins, tannins, flavonoids, saponins, macro- and microelements and other biologically active substances.

Description:

The kidneys are elongate-conical, pointed or blunted, often sticky. The scales are arranged tile, tightly pressed around the edges, slightly ciliate (the lower ones are shorter than the upper ones and sometimes with slightly trailing tips); the length of the kidney is 3-7 mm, in the diameter of 1.5-3 mm. The color of the kidneys is brown, sometimes greenish at the base. The smell is balsamic, pleasant. The taste of water extract is slightly astringent, resinous.

Pharmacodynamics:Infusion of birch buds has a diuretic and anti-inflammatory effect.

Indications:

Edema of cardiac or renal origin of mild to moderate severity (as part of complex therapy).

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug, chronic kidney failure, acute glomerulonephritis, pregnancy, the period of breastfeeding, children's age (up to 12 years).

Dosing and Administration:

About 10 grams (1 tablespoon) of birch buds are placed in enameled dishes, pour 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and heat in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter, the remaining raw material is squeezed. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

Infusion is taken orally 1-2 tablespoons 3 times a day for 30 minutes before meals.

The course of treatment is 2-4 weeks. Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions are possible.

Overdose:

To date, cases of overdose have not been documented.

Not described.

Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:

Infusion of birch buds does not affect the management of vehicles and the employment of potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.

Packaging:For 35 grams, 50 grams and 75 grams in a cardboard box with an inner bag of polyethylene, or with an inner paper bag, or with an inner bag of polypropylene. The text of the instructions for use is completely applied to the pack.

Prepared water extraction - in a dark cool place no more than 2 days. Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life:

2 years.
