Bifidumbacterin - instructions for use, dose, side effects, contraindications

In one suppository (one dose) contains: live bifidobacteria - not less than 10⁷, Confectionary fats (75,0-85,0)% solid paraffin oil (5.0-7.5)% emulsifier T-2 (5.0-7.5)%; components of the drying medium: gelatin food (0.5-1.5)%; sucrose or sugar (5.0-7.0)%; cow's milk, in terms of dry matter (1.0-2.5)%.

Description:

Suppositories yellowish gray or pale yellow brown shade, torpedo or cylindrical; heterogeneity of the color in the form of inclusions or "marble" is allowed. Diameter from 8 to 12 mm.

Pharmacodynamics:

The drug is a live microbial mass antagonistically active strains of bifidobacteria (Bifidobacterium bifidum No. 1 or AT. bifidum № 791), freeze-dried in the culture medium with the addition of drying medium (sucrose, gelatin and milk) and molded into suppositories.

Bifidobacteria live microbial cells possess high antagonistic activity against pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic microorganisms including Staphylococcus, Proteus, enteropathogenic Escherichia coli, Shigella, yeast-like fungi, which determines the normalizing effect of the drug at intestinal disorders bacteriocenosis and female genitalia.The displacement of pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic microflora contributes to the restoration of normoflora.

Indications:

Treatment of dysbacteriosis and inflammatory processes of distal intestine in adults and children older than 3 years:

- chronic colitis of different etiology with pronounced pathological processes in the distal parts of the intestine;

- treatment of persons who have had acute intestinal infections, with bowel dysfunction, the isolation of pathogens or severe dysbiosis of different etiologies.

Treatment of dysbacteriosis and inflammatory processes of female genitalia in adults:

- nonspecific colpitis (not associated with gonococcal, trichomonas and other specific infections); prescribe as an independent tool or after the end of the course of antibiotic therapy;

- dysbiosis of the vagina, including bacterial vaginosis (gardnerellez); prescribe as an independent agent or in combination with immunobiological preparations;

- subacute and chronic stages of inflammatory processes of the female sexual sphere; appoint after the end of the course of antibiotic therapy in order to normalize the microflora;

- hormonally dependent colpitis: senile, etc .; prescribe as an independent tool against a background of specific hormone therapy;

- preparation for planned gynecological operations to prevent postoperative infectious complications;

- Prenatal preparation of pregnant women at risk for the development of inflammatory diseases in order to prevent and treat vaginal dysbiosis;

- as an aid in the treatment of urogenital infections and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs): gonorrhea, urogenital chlamydia, genital herpes, etc.

The drug is used to restore normal microflora in combination with specific antimicrobial, antiviral and immunomodulatory therapy and after therapy.

Contraindications:

Dosing and Administration:

Before using the suppository, the cell packaging is cut and the suppository is removed. With intestinal diseases, suppositories are used rectally 3 times a day for 1-2 suppositories for reception in combination with oral bifidumbacterin for 20-30 min before meals for 5 doses 1-2 times a day.The duration of treatment after acute intestinal infection is 7-10 days, with lingering and chronic forms of the disease, intestinal dysbiosis 15-30 days or more.

In gynecological practice:. Colpites nonspecific, dysbiosis vagina, senile vaginitis hormonal nature, etc. - the drug administered vaginally 1 suppository 2 times a day for 5-10 days.

When the purity of vaginal secretion in pregnant women is violated III-IV degree of the drug is applied to 1 suppository 1-2 times a day for 5-10 or more days under the control of restoration of purity of the vaginal secretion to I-II degree and disappearance of clinical symptoms.

In order to prevent septic complications in gynecological surgery planning and preparing the pregnant prenatal risk groups are used to 1 suppository 1-2 times a day for 5-10 days prior to surgery or childbirth.

Restorative treatment during and after specific antimicrobial, antiviral and immunomodulating therapy - the drug is administered 1 suppository 1-2 times daily for the therapy, and 10 days after completion. If necessary, the course can be repeated after 10-20 days.

Side effects:

Does not cause adverse reactions.

Interaction:

The use of bifidumbacterin can be combined with the simultaneous administration of antibacterial, antiviral and immunomodulating medications.

The combined use of suppositories and oral forms of bifidumbacterin is recommended.
