    Composition:

    One suppository contains at least 107 live bifidobacteria (1 dose), excipients - confectionery fat from 75 to 80%, paraffin oil solid from 5 to 10%, emulsifier from 5 to 10%.

    Description:

    Suppositories of white or different shades of beige color, cone-shaped or cylindrical, heterogeneity of the color in the form of inclusions or "marbling", as well as staining the tip of the suppository from pale yellow to light brown, has a specific smell of confectionery fat.

    A.07.F.A   Antidiarrhoeal preparations of biological origin regulating the balance of intestinal microflora

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Bifidumbacterin suppositories are the microbial mass of living bacteria of an antagonistically active strain Bifidobacterium bifidum 791, lyophilized in a culture medium with the addition of a protective sucrose-gelatin-lactic medium, formed into medical suppositories.

    Live microbial cells of bifidobacteria have a high antagonistic activity against a wide range of pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic microorganisms, including staphylococci, proteus, enteropathogenic E. coli, Shigella,yeast-like fungi, which determines the normalizing effect of the drug for violations of bacteriocenosis of the intestine and female genitalia. The displacement of pathogenic and opportunistic microflora contributes to the restoration of normoflora.

    Purpose: treatment of clinically expressed dysbacteriosis and inflammatory processes of the intestine in children and adults, vaginal dysbiosis and nonspecific inflammatory processes of the vagina.

    Indications:

    - Chronic colitis of different etiology with pronounced pathological processes in distal parts of the intestine; treatment of persons with acute intestinal infections, with intestinal dysfunction, isolation of pathogens or pronounced dysbiosis of different etiologies;

    - nonspecific colpitis (not associated with gonococcal, trichomonas and other specific infections); prescribe as an independent tool or after the end of the course of antibiotic therapy;

    - vaginal dysbiosis, including bacterial vaginosis (gardnerellez); prescribe as an independent agent or in combination with immunomodulating medications;

    - subacute and chronic stages of inflammatory processes of the female sexual sphere; appoint after the end of the courseantibacterial therapy to normalize microflora;

    - hormonally dependent colpitis: senile, etc .; prescribe as an independent tool against a background of specific hormone therapy;

    - preparation for planned gynecological operations for the purpose of preventing postoperative infectious complications;

    - Prenatal preparation of pregnant women at risk for the development of inflammatory diseases in order to prevent and treat vaginal dysbiosis;

    - as an aid in the treatment of urogenital infections and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs): gonorrhea, urogenital chlamydiosis, urogenital herpes, etc .;

    - restoration of normal vaginal microflora in combination and after specific antimicrobial, antiviral and immunomodulating therapy. The combined use of suppositories and oral forms of bifidumbacterin is recommended.

    Contraindications:

    There are no contraindications for the use of bifidumbacterin. It is not recommended to use the drug in the presence of yeast-like fungi ("thrush") because of the danger of exacerbation of the disease.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Bifidobacteria are representatives of normal human microflora.Therefore, drugs made on their basis, can be used in pregnancy and lactation.

    Dosing and Administration:

    With intestinal diseases suppositories are used rectally 3 times a day for 1-2 suppositories for admission in combination with taking oral forms of bifidumbacterin for 20-30 minutes before meals 5 doses 1-2 times a day. The duration of treatment after acute intestinal infection is 7-10 days, with lingering and chronic forms of the disease, intestinal dysbiosis 15-30 days or more.

    In gynecological practice (nonspecific colpitis, vaginal dysbiosis, senile vaginitis of hormonal nature, etc.) the drug is prescribed, vaginally 1 suppository 2 times a day for 5-10 days.

    When the purity of vaginal secretion in pregnant women is violated III-IV degree the drug is used for 1 suppository 1-2 times a day for 5-10 or more days under the control of restoration of purity of the vaginal secretion to I-II degree and disappearance of clinical symptoms.

    With the aim of preventing purulent-septic complications with planned gynecological operations Apply 1 suppository 1-2 times a day for 5-10 days before the proposed operation or delivery.

    Restorative therapy after antibiotics: the drug is administered 1 suppository 1-2 times a day for 10 days. If necessary, the course of treatment can be repeated after 10-20 days.
