    Composition:

    For 1 suppository:

    active substance: bisacodyl 10 mg;

    auxiliary substance: fatty acids glycerides (solid fat, vitessol H 15) 1.0 g.

    Description:

    Suppositories from white to white with a creamy or yellowish hue of color, torpedo shape,without visible inclusions on the longitudinal section.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Laxative. It causes irritation of the receptor apparatus of the intestine, has a direct effect on the intestinal mucosa, enhancing its peristalsis and increasing the secretion of mucus in the large intestine.

    The action occurs within an hour after application.

    Pharmacokinetics:Not absorbed in the intestine. Is a prodrug, in an alkaline environment occurs hydrolysis with the formation of a metabolite, which has an irritant effect on the mucosa of the gastrointestinal tract.
    Indications:

    Constipation due to hypotension and flaccid peristalsis of the colon (including in elderly patients, after surgery, childbirth).

    Regulation of stool with hemorrhoids, proctitis, anal fissures.

    Preparation for surgical operations, instrumental and roentgenological studies.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity, intestinal obstruction, strangulated hernia, acute inflammatory diseases of the abdominal cavity, peritonitis, bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract, metrorrhagia, cystitis, spastic constipation, acute proctitis, acute hemorrhoids,children's age to two years.

    Carefully:Pregnancy, lactation, hepatic and / or renal failure.
    Dosing and Administration:

    The drug is applied rectally, i.e. enter into the rectum.

    Having broken off one cell with suppository on the notch, release the suppository from the cell. To do this, separate the edges of the tape from the acute side of the suppository and pull them in different directions.     Adults and children over 14 years of age - 10-20 mg (1-2 suppositories), children 8-14 years old - 10 mg (1 suppository); 2-7 years - 5 mg (1/2 suppository) once a day.

    When preparing for surgery or for diagnostic tests - 10 - 20 mg (2-4 tablets) in the evening inside and in the morning - 10 mg (1 suppository) rectally.

    Side effects:

    With the use of suppositories, local reactions (pain and irritation) are possible, allergic reactions, abdominal cramps, flatulence are possible.

    Diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration of the body, violation of electrolyte balance.

    The use of high doses and long-term use of bisacodyl can lead to the development of intestinal atony.

    Overdose:

    Symptoms: diarrhea, dehydration, violation of water-electrolyte balance, hypokalemia, atony of the colon.

    Treatment: symptomatic.

    Special instructions:

    Do not use the drug for more than 7 days without special instructions from your doctor.
