    Characteristic
    Grass of oregano contains essential oil, tannins, flavonoids and other biologically active substances.
    Description:

    Pieces of stems, often longitudinally split, leaves, as well as individual flowers and seeds, passing through a sieve with apertures measuring 7 mm.

    The color is green, grayish-green with white, brown, purple, brownish-violet, whitish-green and pink blotches. The scent is fragrant.The taste of the water extract is bitterish-spicy, slightly astringent.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Infusion of herb oregano has an expectorant, choleretic, diuretic and sedative effect. Strengthens the peristalsis of the intestine, increases the secretion of gastric juice, has moderate antimicrobial properties.

    Indications:

    As part of complex therapy. Inside with diseases of the respiratory tract as an expectorant (acute and chronic bronchitis, acute respiratory viral infections); with secretory deficiency of the gastrointestinal tract, intestinal atony and enterocolitis, accompanied by constipation and flatulence. Outer in the form of lotions and baths with pustular skin diseases (pyoderma) and diathesis (atopic dermatitis).

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the drug.

    When administered orally - pregnancy, the period of breastfeeding, age to 18 years, hyperacid gastritis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum (in the stage of exacerbation).

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    The use in pregnancy is contraindicated in connection with the tonic effect of the infusion on the contraction of the smooth muscles of the uterus. There is no information on the isolation of biologically active substances with breast milk. If it is necessary to use the drug, breastfeeding should be discontinued.

    Dosing and Administration:

    About 10 g of chopped herb oregano (2 tablespoons) is placed in a glass or enameled dishes, pour 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and heat in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter, the remaining raw material is squeezed. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

    Inside take in a warm form for 1/4 - 1/2 cup infusion 2 times a day for 15 minutes before meals.

    External apply in the form of baths or lotions 2-3 times a day.

    The course of treatment is 1-2 weeks. Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.

    Side effects:

    Allergic reactions are possible.

    Overdose:

    Cases of overdose have not been registered to date.

    Interaction:

    When using the drug as an expectorant is not recommended the simultaneous use of the present oregano with preparations containing codeine, and other antitussive agents, as this makes it difficult to move away diluted sputum.

    Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:

    During the period when the drug is administered orally, care should be taken when carrying out potentially dangerous activities requiring special attention and quick reactions (vehicle management, working with moving mechanisms).

    Packaging:

    For 50 g of the drug in a pack of cardboard, with an internal package of paper, together with instructions for use. It is allowed to put the full text of instructions for use on the pack.

    Storage conditions:

    In dry the dark place.

    Ready to keep the infusion in a dark cool place for no more than 2 days.

    Keep out of the reach of children.

    Shelf life:

    2 years. Do not use after the expiration date.
