Composition:

To obtain the extract, use:

Eleutherococcus spiny rhizome and roots - 1000 g

Ethanol (ethyl alcohol) 40% - a sufficient amount to produce 1000 ml of the drug

Description:

The liquid is dark brown with a possible slight opalescence and a peculiar smell. During storage, a precipitate may form.

Pharmacodynamics:

It has a stimulating effect on the central nervous system, tonic and restorative effect on the body, increases the general nonspecific resistance of the organism, improves appetite, improves physical and mental performance.

Indications:

Mental and physical fatigue, asthenic conditions of various etiologies, arterial hypotension (low blood pressure), recovery period after infectious diseases and postoperative period.

Contraindications:

Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug, hypertension (high blood pressure),heart rhythm disturbance, myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular pathology, epilepsy, convulsive conditions, increased excitability, insomnia, acute infectious diseases, chronic liver diseases; pregnancy, the period of breastfeeding; children's age (up to 12 years).

Carefully:

Alcoholism, craniocerebral trauma, brain disease, children's age from 12 years.

Pregnancy and lactation:

Contraindicated use during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.

Dosing and Administration:

Inside, before meals, in the morning. Adults - 20-30 drops 2-3 times a day. Children over 12 years - in a dose of 1 drop per 1 year of life 2-3 times a day.

The course of treatment is 25-30 days. If necessary, repeat courses with two-week breaks (or without them) after consulting a doctor.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions, tachycardia, headache, insomnia, hypoglycemia.

Overdose:

In case of an overdose, dose-dependent side effects may be increased. Treatment: symptomatic.

Interaction:

Strengthens the action of stimulants of the central nervous system, is an antagonist of medicines,oppressing the central nervous system (including neuroleptics, barbiturates, anxiolytics, antiepileptic drugs).

With simultaneous use with digoxin, an increase in the concentration in the blood plasma of the latter is possible; with hypoglycemic drugs (including insulin) and anticoagulants may enhance the effect.

Special instructions:

The drug should not be used in the afternoon to avoid sleep disturbances. When developing hypoglycemia, it is recommended to take the drug after meals, reduce the dose or cancel the drug. The maximum single dose of liquid extract contains 0.43 grams, and the daily dose of 1.4 g of absolute alcohol.

During the period of application of the drug, care should be taken when carrying out potentially dangerous activities requiring increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (vehicle management, work with moving mechanisms, dispatcher and operator work).
