Pharmacotherapeutic group:Rehydrating agent for oral administration
    ATX: & nbsp

    A.07.C.A   Rehydrate for oral use

    Pharmacodynamics:
Means for ingestion replaces the loss of fluid and electrolytes and contributes to the normalization of metabolism and the elimination of acidosis.

Hydrovit® is a polyelectrolyte preparation for oral rehydration. Contains electrolytes, a deficiency which is often observed with diarrhea in children (Na+, TO+, Cl, HCO3). The timely use of the drug can prevent the occurrence of electrolyte disorders and acidosis, especially with dyspepsia in infants. The glucose included in the preparation is a source of energy that provides the basic needs of the body.

    Pharmacokinetics:

After oral administration, glucose is metabolized to CO2 and H2ABOUT, and the remaining components are excreted mainly with urine and only in a small amount with sweat or feces.

    Indications:

For oral administration for rehydration and electrolyte replacement (compensation of loss of salt and liquid) in diarrhea and prevention of water-electrolyte disorders that occur due to intense sweating (physical exertion, hyperthermia).

    Contraindications:

    - Hyperkalemia

    - Acute or chronic renal failure

    - Indomitable vomiting

    - Inhibition of consciousness, hypovolemic shock

    - Violation of acid-base balance (metabolic alkalosis)

    - Disturbance of carbohydrate absorption in the intestine (congenital monosaccharide malabsorption)

    Carefully:

In patients with impaired water-electrolyte balance, associated with a deficiency of kidney function.

Patients suffering from heart failure and hypertension.

In patients with diabetes, since Hydrovit® contains in one package 3.56 g of glucose.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

The use of the drug is not contraindicated.

    Dosing and Administration:

    The drug is taken internally.

The solution for oral administration should be prepared immediately before use.

Dissolve the contents of one sachet with Hydrovit ® in 200 ml of drinking or freshly boiled chilled water or tea and immediately drink the solution.

If the child does not drink the proposed portion at a time, the prepared solution is given in small portions until the recommended dose is reached.

    Dosage

Breast children and children under 3 years of age should take from 3 to 5 bags (or more, if necessary) for 24 hours, which is equivalent to one-and-a-half daily dose (the prepared solution).

    Children of middle age:

A single dose is 1 sachet after each emptying of the intestine.

    Older children and adults:

A single dose is 1 -2 sachets after each bowel movement.

The drug is given in the form of a solution at the rate of 150 ml / kg of body weight for infants and young children and - 20 to 40 ml / kg of body weight - for children of middle and older age and adults.

Higher doses can be used at the beginning of treatment for rapid and complete recovery of fluid loss.

    Duration of treatment

Treatment with the drug Hydrovit® should be continued while diarrhea lasts. The advisability of continuing treatment: more than 24 hours - for infants and young children and more than 36 hours - for children of school age and adults, is determined directly by the doctor.

At room temperature, the ready-to-use solution is stable for one hour. All unused portions of the solution should be discarded one hour after ingestion.

    Side effects:

In isolated cases, nausea and vomiting are observed. Allergic reactions are possible.

    Overdose:

For patients without renal dysfunction, there is usually no risk of poisoning or overdose with this drug.

When applying this glucose-electrolyte solution, in patients with confirmed or latent-flowing diabetes mellitus (diabetes mellitus) can increase the level of sugar in the blood, up to the state of diabetic coma.

Accidental intoxication with undiluted powder can disrupt electrolyte balance and increase diarrhea.

Always consult a doctor in case of an overdose.

    Interaction:

The action of cardiac glycosides can be weakened. In patients undergoing treatment with glycosides when taking Hydrovita®, it is necessary to monitor the concentration of potassium in the blood.

    Special instructions:

Treatment with Hydrovit ® should be started as soon as possible to avoid the consequences of serious fluid loss (depression, hypovolemic shock).Severe dehydration, especially in infants, should initially be compensated for by intravenous fluids, and then, if appropriate, by oral therapy.

Diarrhea, accompanied by frequent vomiting, can be a sign of a serious illness. If diarrhea does not persist for a long time and / or if the general condition worsens, you should consult your doctor without delay:
