    Pharmacotherapeutic group:Calcium-phosphorus exchange regulator
    ATX: & nbsp

A.12.A.X   Calcium preparations in combination with other drugs

    Pharmacodynamics:

Combined drug, the effect of which is due to its constituent components. Regulates the exchange of calcium and phosphate in the body (bones, teeth, nails, hair, muscles). Reduces resorption (resorption) and increases the density of bone tissue, replenishes the lack of calcium and vitamins D3 in the body, enhances the absorption of calcium in the intestine and the reabsorption of phosphates in the kidneys, promotes the mineralization of bones and teeth.

Calcium - is involved in the formation of bone tissue, coagulation of blood, maintaining the stability of cardiac activity, in the process of transmission of nerve impulses and muscle contractions.

Vitamin D3 (colcalciferol) - increases the absorption of calcium in the intestines, promotes the formation and mineralization of bone tissue and dental tissue.

The use of calcium and vitamin D3 prevents the increase in the production of parathyroid hormone, which is a stimulator of increased bone resorption.

    Pharmacokinetics:

Vitamin D3 absorbed in the small intestine. Calcium is absorbed in ionized form in the proximal part of the small intestine by means of an active Dvitamin of the dependent transport mechanism.

    Indications:

Prevention and complex therapy of osteoporosis (menopause, senile, "steroid", idiopathic) and its complications (bone fractures). Prevention and treatment of calcium and / or vitamin deficiency D3.

    Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug components (including lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, glucosogalactose malabsorption), hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria, calcium nephrourolythiasis, hypervitaminosis D, decalcifying tumors (myeloma, bone metastases, sarcoidosis), phenylketonuria (contains aspartame), pulmonary tuberculosis (active form), chronic renal failure, sugar / isomaltase deficiency, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, children under 3 years old.

Carefully:Benign granulomatosis, reception cardiac glycosides and thiazide diuretics, pregnancy, lactation.
    Pregnancy and lactation:

The daily dose should not exceed 1500 mg of calcium and 600 ME vitamin A D3. Hypercalcemia, developing against an overdose, during pregnancy can cause defects in the child's mental and physical development. Vitamin D and its metabolites can penetrate into breast milk, so you need to consider the intake of calcium and vitamin D from other sources in the mother and child.

    Dosing and Administration:

Inside, chew or swallow whole, mainly during food.

Adults: in the treatment of osteoporosis - 1 tablet 2-3 times a day, for the prevention of osteoporosis - 1 tablet 2 times a day. The minimum duration of treatment is 3 months,a longer course - as directed by the doctor. The minimum duration of a course of prevention is 1 month, a longer course is prescribed by a doctor.

With a deficiency of calcium and / or vitamin D3:

    - Adults and children over 12 years - 1 tablet 1-2 times a day.

    - Children from 5 years to 12 years - 1-2 tablets a day.

    - Children from 3 to 5 years - 1 tablet a day.

The minimum duration of the course of therapy is 3 months, a longer course is prescribed by the doctor.

    Side effects:

Allergic reactions. Dyspeptic disorders from the gastrointestinal tract. Hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria (elevated levels of calcium in the blood and urine). Possible side effects of the vitamin D3 also include: polyuria, constipation, headache, myalgia, arthralgia, increased blood pressure, arrhythmias, impaired renal function, exacerbation of the tuberculous process in the lungs. Possible side effects of calcium carbonate also include: stomach pain, constipation or diarrhea, flatulence, nausea, a secondary increase in gastric secretion.

    Overdose:

In case of signs of overdose, consult a physician.

Symptoms: thirst, polyuria, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, constipation, dizziness, weakness, headache, fainting, coma; with prolonged use of excessive doses: calcification of blood vessels and tissues.

Treatment: the introduction of a large amount of fluid in the body, the use of "loop" diuretics (eg, furosemide), glucocorticosteroids, calcitonin, bisphosphonates.

In case of clinical symptoms of overdose, the concentration of calcium and creatinine in the blood should be determined. In the case of an elevated concentration of calcium or creatinine in the blood serum should reduce the dose of the drug or temporarily stop treatment. In the case of hypercalciuria, exceeding 7.5 mmol / day (300 mg / day), it is necessary to reduce the dose or stop taking.

    Interaction:

Vitamin D activity3 can decrease with its simultaneous use with phenytoin or barbiturates.

With simultaneous treatment with cardiac glycosides, ECG and clinical monitoring are necessary, since calcium preparations can enhance the therapeutic and toxic effects of cardiac glycosides.

Preparations of calcium and vitamin D3 can increase the absorption of tetracyclines from the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, the time interval between doses of drugs should be at least three hours.

To prevent the absorption of bisphosphonates or sodium fluoride is reduced, it is recommended to take Complyvit® Calcium D3 not earlier than two hours after their admission.

Glucocorticosteroids reduce the absorption of calcium, so treatment with glucocorticosteroids may require an increase in the dose of Compivit® Calcium D3. Simultaneous treatment with colestyramine or laxatives based on mineral or vegetable oil can reduce the absorption of vitamin A D3. With the simultaneous use of thiazide diuretics, the risk of hypercalcemia increases as they increase tubular calcium reabsorption. Furosemide and other "loop" diuretics, on the contrary, increase the excretion of calcium by the kidneys.

    Special instructions:

Complivit® Calcium D3 contains aspartame, which in the body is transformed into phenylalanine, therefore the drug should not be taken by patients suffering from phenylketonuria.

In the elderly, the need for calcium is 1500 mg / day, in vitamin D3 - 0,5-1 thousand IU / day.

In order to avoid an overdose, it is necessary to take into account the supplementary intake of the vitamin D3 from other sources.

Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:The drug does not adversely affect the performance of potentially hazardous activities requiring special attention and quick reactions (including the ability to drive vehicles and work with mechanisms requiring increased attention).
