    Composition:

    For one tablet:

    Methionine 250.0 mg.

    Excipients: methylcellulose (methylcellulose water-soluble) - 2.237 mg, microcrystalline cellulose - 47.559 mg, stearic acid - 3.356 mg, magnesium stearate - 3.356 mg, potato starch - 23,492 mg.

    Shell composition: hypromellose - 7,250 mg, polysorbate-80 - 2,207 mg, titanium dioxide - 0,540 mg, dye azorubin (E 122) - 0,003 mg.

    Description:

    Tablets are round, biconvex, covered with a film coat of pink color.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Has a metabolic, hepatoprotective effect. Methionine - an indispensable amino acid - is necessary for the synthesis of choline, the deficiency of which is associated with a violation of the synthesis of phospholipids from fats and the deposition of neutral fat in the liver. He is the donor of the methyl group.

    Participates in the biosynthesis of carnitine, cysteine, taurine, lecithin, phosphatidylcholine and other phospholipids.Violation of biotransformation of methionine can lead to atherosclerosis.

    Methionine is one of the most important amino acids necessary for protein biosynthesis.

    It is necessary for detoxification of xenobiotics.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    Easily absorbed from the intestine. It is excreted in small quantities in urine.

    Indications:

    Diseases of the liver that occur with fatty infiltration of hepatocytes: toxic hepatitis, hepatosis (including alcohol), cirrhosis, liver dystrophy; intoxication.

    Prevention of toxic liver damage by arsenic, chloroform, benzene, alcohol.

    In the combination therapy: protein deficiency of various origin.

    Contraindications:

    Viral hepatitis, severe hepatic insufficiency, hepatic encephalopathy, hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, children under 6 years of age.

    Carefully:

    Renal failure (risk of hyperaemia).

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Studies confirming the safety of methionine for the fetus during its use during pregnancy and safety for the child when used during breastfeeding have not been carried out.

    The use of the drug during pregnancy and during lactation is possible only by appointment of a doctor in cases where the intended benefit to the mother exceeds the possible risk to the fetus and the child.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Inside, for 30 - 60 minutes before meals.

    Adults - 500 mg (2 tablets) -1.5 g (6 tablets) 3-4 times a day.

    Children over 6 years of 250 mg (1 tablet) - 500 mg (2 tablets) 3-4 times a day.

    The course of treatment is 10-30 days. It is also prescribed for repeated courses of 10 days with 10-day breaks.

    Side effects:

    Allergic reactions, nausea, vomiting.

    Overdose:

    Symptoms: decrease in arterial pressure, tachycardia, confusion.

    Treatment: symptomatic.

    Interaction:

    Interactions with drugs are not described.

    The use of methionine in a balanced ratio with other amino acids prevents its toxic effect.

    Special instructions:

    Unbalanced use of methionine in large doses can have a damaging effect on liver cells and other organs.

    The drug does not affect the ability to drive a car or to control various mechanisms,as well as the employment of other potentially dangerous activities that require increased attention and speed of mental and motor reactions.
