    Description:

    Dental gel:

    homogeneous gel from colorless to colorless with a slightly yellowish hue, with a specific smell of menthol.

    Dental gel (pineapple):

    homogeneous gel from colorless to colorless with a slightly yellowish hue of color, with a specific smell of menthol and a weak smell of pineapple.

    Gel stomatologic (strawberry):

    homogeneous gel from colorless to colorless with a slightly yellowish hue, with a specific smell of menthol and a faint smell of strawberry.

    Gel dental (lemon):

    homogeneous gel from colorless to colorless with a slightly yellowish hue, with a specific smell of menthol and a faint smell of lemon.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Combined antimicrobial preparation. The effectiveness of the drug is due to the presence in its composition of two antibacterial components: metronidazole and chlorhexidine.

    Metronidazole has antibacterial action against anaerobic bacteria that cause disease of the paradontium: Porphyromonas gingivalis, Prevotella intermedia, Prevotella denticola, Fusobacterium fusiformis, Wolinella recta, Eikenella corrodens, Borrelia vincenti, Bacteroides melaninogenicus, Selenomonas spp.

    Chlorhexidine - antiseptic broad spectrum, which has a bactericidal effect against gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms, as well as yeast, dermatophytes. Does not interfere with the functional activity of lactobacilli.
    Pharmacokinetics:

    With local application of Metrodent, the dental gel is practically not systemically absorbed and does not have a systemic effect, since active substances are used in minimal therapeutic concentrations and their systemic effect is minimal.

    Indications:

    Metrodent Dental Gel is intended for topical application in case of infectious and inflammatory diseases of periodontal and oral mucosa:

    - acute and chronic (edema, hyperplastic, desquamative) gingivitis (inflammation of the gums);

    - acute ulcerous-necrotic gingivitis of Vincent;

    - acute and chronic periodontitis;

    - juvenile periodontitis;

    - periodontal disease complicated by gingivitis;

    - aphthous stomatitis;

    - cheilitis;

    - inflammation of the oral mucosa during the wearing of prostheses;

    - postextraction alveolitis (inflammation of the hole after tooth extraction);

    - periodontitis, periodontal abscess (as part of combination therapy).

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug (including metronidazole, chlorhexidine, a derivative of nitroimidazole and paraaminobenzoic acid).

    Children under 6 years.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Information about the influence of Metrodent gel dental during pregnancy and breastfeeding is absent. Therefore, it is not recommended to use the drug in the first trimester of pregnancy. In pregnancy (II and III trimester) apply only if the intended benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus.

    In the lactation period, if you need to prescribe the drug, you should decide whether to stop breastfeeding.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Locally, only for dental use.

    After thoroughly brushing your teeth, rinse the mouth with a soda solution and rub the gums with a dry cotton ball. Squeeze a small amount of gel onto the toothbrush and apply the gel with a toothbrush on the gums and interdental spaces. After applying the gel for 30 minutes, do not rinse your mouth and eat.

    Adults and children over 6 years of age:

    with acute and chronic gingivitis, acute ulcerous-necrotic gingivitis of Vincent, periodontitis, periodontitis, complicated by gingivitis, periodontal abscess (as part of complex therapy). Metrodent dental gel is applied to the gum area 2 times a day.The duration of therapy is an average of 7-10 days.

    When periodontitis after removal of dental deposits, periodontal pockets are treated with the drug and gel application is applied to the gum area. Exposure time is 30 minutes. The number of procedures depends on the severity of the disease. In the future, the patient can apply the gel on his own: the drug should be applied to the gum area 2 times a day for 7-10 days.

    With aphthous stomatitis, inflammation of the oral mucosa during the wearing of prostheses, the gel is applied to the affected area of ​​the oral mucosa 2 times a day for 7-10 days.

    With cheilitis, the gel is applied to the affected area 2 times a day for 7-10 days.

    To prevent exacerbations of chronic gingivitis and periodontitis, a small amount of gel (the size of a pea) is applied to the gum area 2 times a day for 7-10 days. Preventative courses are held 2-3 times a year.

    For the prevention of postextraction alveolitis, the preparation is treated with a hole after tooth extraction, then the gel is applied on an outpatient basis 2-3 times a day for 7-10 days.

    Side effects:

    With topical application of the dental Metrodent gel, the risk of developing systemic side effects is small,However, there can be observed: "metallic" taste in the mouth (when applying the gel without flavor), headache, allergic reactions (skin rash, itching, urticaria).

    If any of the side effects listed in the manual are aggravated, or if you notice any other side effects not listed in the instructions, tell your doctor.

    Overdose:

    Cases of overdose of the dental metrodent gel with topical application was not observed.

    Accidental or intentional ingestion of a large amount of gel may cause an increase in side effects, mainly due to metronidazole (chlorhexidine practically not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract).

    Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, dizziness, in more severe cases - paresthesia and seizures.

    Treatment: gastric lavage, symptomatic therapy if necessary.

    Interaction:

    With topical application in recommended doses of the Metrodent dental gel, its interaction with other drugs has not been revealed.

    Special instructions:

    The use of the dental gel Metrodent does not replace hygienic dental cleaning,so during the course of treatment with the drug, teeth cleaning should be continued. However, you should not combine the application of the gel with toothpaste simultaneously. Avoid contact with eyes.

    Safety and effectiveness of the use of dental gel Metrodent for children under 6 years is not established.

    Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:

    The use of the drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and engage in other potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.

    Form release / dosage:

    Gel stomatologic, gel stomatologic (pineapple), gel stomatologic (strawberry), gel stomatologic (lemon), 10 mg / g + 0,5 mg / g.

    Packaging:

    By 20 grams of gel in a plastic laminated tube with an internal aluminum coating, the neck of which is sealed with aluminum foil, with a screw cap made of polypropylene.
